Dinner at John and Tenerife

On Saturday got invited to my son's flat for a meal with my adopted daughter in law Vicky for Curry, just the four of us. Was not sure about this as the only thing John and me have in common is blood, Combat Arts and family his obsession with Football drives me to distraction and my politics annoys him no end . Yet the whole night was brilliant, the food was fantastic and the conversation was great especially as I drank 15 bottles of wine and 10 Gin & Tonics

Monday we flew out to Tenerife with Thomson for what they term as a Platinum Holiday at the Arona Gran Hotel. The hotel is marvelous and the food unbelievable mind so it should be for the price I paid but why do they skimp on the flights, cramped seating and no free food and drink. Already caught the sun but today Wednesday its raining I at 63 must be one of the youngest here average age is 75. People of this age do amaze me at breakfast, which is a buffet, it is like a stampede every one attacks the buffet as if this was their last meal (mind you looking at some of them it could be) and the clothes they wear in the morning looks as if they borrowed them from their grand children. Why is it when people go on holiday they wear cloths which are only suitable for young people, in the evening totally different everyone comes well dressed and all  look very smart, someone  the women look very attractive in spite of their age. I hope if I start dressing and behaving  like a teenager some one tells me

Dole Bully's

I have one of my tenants who is a friend he is a 59 year old single man. For 2 years he was unemployed about 6 weeks ago after continually trying for work he managed to get a labourers job on the Isle of Grain he worked for 4 weeks and was hit by a JCB the arm of the JCB swung round and hit him in the shoulder 3 inches higher and would have been killed. He reported the accident, the following day he attempted to go back to work but shock and the injury proved to much and he returned home He saw the Doctor who said he was not to work as he was suffering shock, stress and a possible twisted spine and damaged shoulder. On my advice he will seek compensation as this type of accident should never occur in the work place.

The problem has been that he is being refused benefit, it seem that he has to appeal against this. They maintain he has insufficient stamps to cover his benefit, yet he has only been in work for a month and as he is claiming industrial accident benefit they querying this as well even though he has medical certificates, this may also affect his housing benefit. He has £22 to his name at present although in a few months he hopes to get his tax back. He has to obtain a crisis loan to get by. I obviously will not chase his rent and by the looks of may have to led him money for electric and some food, I lent him £1000 to buy a car so he could go to work.

This is not meant to be a sob story but one that brings in how the benefit system does not help the single man who is English. This man  has done his best to get of the Dole but because of no fault of his own he is now being penalised by an over officious benefit system. If they want people to come away from being dependant on the state they have to realise that situations like his will occur occasionally and on occasion like this they should be able to return to benefit quickly. The reason why, is that people like him will continue to try for work even if its for short periods only, if the benefit system offers them a fall back many will take the risk of occasional work.

The system is abused we all know that, 11 children special house stable, Moslem mullahs who preach hatred being supported by state aid etc. but sometimes there are genuine cases but it is always the weak, the uneducated who reap the wrath of some of these bureaucrats. Obviously I will help him with his case as I have helped other people in the past but it infuriates me the bullying tactics of some government department

The Fox & Marriage

The Fox incident has caused a lot of interest especially from the Bunny Huggers who are convinced the baby that was attacked was not a fox but the parents pet dog or how stupid to leave your door open. Unbelievable these morons think it is now wrong to leave your door open in your house? The fox is a killer and an urban fox is the worst it does not know how to hunt it is just a scavenger. It will go for all sorts of waste food or weak animals like kittens, baby birds and yes babies as someone who worked on a farm I have seen the devastation they do they kill for the excitement of the kill. So what do some of these left wing councils do they capture them and let them go in the country how cruel is that, to let animal, that can not hunt, into the wild. I have spoke to several gamekeepers and they tell you the first thing an urban fox will do is head for a house and its bins or a chicken coup. They are soon dispatched. Most, unlike the country fox, have some sort deformity
The stupid townie thinks its clever to feed them and encourage them into the gardens, a fox is not a pet it is vicious animal and when seen should be shot or poisoned

Conspiracy of silence on value of marriage: Politicians frightened to admit fathers are vital, says top family lawyer
Supporting marriage has become a 'no go area' for our politicians says Baroness Deech
She says an absence of fathers is 'harming' the next generation of children
Politicians are 'too afraid' of offending cohabiting partners or single parents

Death of Common Sense

This article has recirculated from 3 years ago but it is still relevant

Do you mourn the death of common sense?
I received this in an email:
An Obituary printed in the London Times -

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense , who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

- Why the early bird gets the worm;

- Life isn't always fair;

- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:

I Know My Rights

I Want It Now

Someone Else Is To Blame

I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

The Pope

As a Roman Catholic (non practicing) I take an interest in what the Pope is doing, unlike a lot of people I do not think God chooses him, he is chosen by other men i.e. the Cardinals who I believe ask for Gods help in choosing the right person, I also do not believe he is infallible. In recent years I believe the various Pope’s have been Good, Religious and Spiritual men this has not always been the case hundreds of years ago where some of them were closer to Satan then God and I expect they received their punishment for their sins if not in this World certainly in the next.

The one thing that has impressed me with the Catholic faith they would stick to what the believe in and would not sway with modern ideas like the Church of England. Yet the Catholic Church has a lot to answer for especially the sexual abuse they have covered up over the years, things like this do test one’s faith. I remember when the IRA was at its worse some 30 years ago, the local priest asked its congregation to pray for the IRA murderer Bobby Sands, you may remember this evil man as one of those who were on the blanket. My mother walked out of the Mass in disgust, when she told me about this I said that you now finished with the Catholics, her reply was, one that stayed with for ever, she said “ you must not confuse the religion with the people who lead it” she went to reiterate her faith in the Catholic Religion but not in the people who lead it. At the end of day the Roman Catholic Church is a massive corporation with CO, Directors and workers i.e. Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests etc. and we rely on them to run the Corporation but at the same time stick to the beliefs passed down by Jesus

I hope they do not succumb to the views of small minority of activists who want to move the Church to a more secular ideals they wrongly call modernizing. These people want see the erosion of the faith, they believe there is no such thing as evil or sin, they want see the break up the true family by encouraging Gay Marriage and an act, which is still sinful. Some things may need to be looked at Women Clergy for instant unless I am mistaken; Jesus never said women could never be priests? Priest maybe ought to marry up until the 11th Century they could marry I know it was a long time ago but it proves that was not forbidden by Jesus as for Contraception there is only one quote in the Old Testament (Gen 1:28) that suggests contraception should be forbidden, as Catholics follow the teachings of Jesus as all Christians do this should not be a problem as once again he never actually said it was a sin. With regard to abortion, I am one of those that think a baby in the womb is a separate being and the Women are the vessel, which carries the Child. I will have to rely on scientists to tell me at what point the cells that produce a human being come together to make the living item.

If you have read this you mostly probably think Martin has become a Religious Fanatic NO I have always believed but a lot of things to me make practical sense. You have to agree that society has a whole in the UK as lost its sense of morality, every form of crime is on the increase, promiscuity is rampant, children with only one parent is astronomical, obesity in on the increase, neglect of the elderly is common place and many more problems we have today. Very small vociferous minorities who use the slogan of equality to further their cause have brought about most of the decay of modern Britain.
Back in the 1960’s we had those that peddled the idea sex should not restricted to married couples but should be treated as a social pastime, these were the same people who promoted the use of drugs and why? So they could rationalize and normalize their own debauched behavior and you can see the results in today’s society. Homosexual were very badly treated in the 1960’s and rightly so laws were brought into treat them as equals what they did in there own bedroom was there own business but some were not satisfied with that they wanted more rights then the rest they wanted to become an elite controlling section of society based on their deviant sexual behavior, things like Gay Marriage is not about equality it is about power and subjugation over their fellow citizens and Religion. What about those who want to treat criminals as victims forever gaining ever more lenient punishment, making excuses for their behavior and trying to blame society for their wrong doings
For example I listened to the Father of James Bulger who was murdered 20 years ago, it was a very moving interview but one thing struck me was when he said that more effort was put into the 2 children who murdered James then was put into the family of the murdered boy. Once again the liberal elite forget that when you do something wrong you must be punished for it. I always remember the saying “ The punishment must fit the crime” these killers were released after 8 years. In the Catholic Religion you attend confession to atone and get forgiveness for your sins but part of that atonement is pay penances and it is not just saying a few Hail Mary’s and Our Fathers it is admitting to others your sins and accepting a just punishment and I emphasize JUST. In the past Priest would put the fear of God into you, this was designed to keep us all on the right path of general Godliness. That can be translated in today’s language, as “The fear of Punishment” this is there to remind you to remain a decent member of society

The 10 commandments are the Pillars of a decent society once we start ignoring them so will a decent, law abiding and caring society collapse. When we start messing with institutions that have brought us stability and safety like marriage just to appease a small minority (Homosexuals are just 1.5% of the population) then the complete structure of society will collapse.

I hope the New Pope remains true to the Catholic Faith

BBC Silent Witness

I have always enjoyed Silent Witness but in the latest program the team of scientists were in Afghanistan and in a particular BBC manner they managed to put the Taliban as the hero's and the Brits etc made to be villains to the extent a White  British Soldier was portrayed as Taliban convert who was a suicide bomber. Apart from the act the program was not factualy correct, should a British Broadcasting company funded by the UK tax payer be supporting an enemy to our troops?  You listened to any BBC political program they always have a left wing slant. So why should we the tax payer fund it?

Weight and Age- Animals are Poofs-Council Tax

One of the problems with getting older is that your body does not function as well as it should and to maintain a level of fitness and health is hard work.  I have always kept myself fit as an International Competitor that was to be expected; when I was younger I competed in the Super Heavy Weight Class so weight was not an issue. Retirement was forced on me in 2001 after I won the World Masters Judo Championships my knee had got so bad I had a struggle walking I still trained but not to the level I was used to and my weight ballooned to 160 kilo/ 25 stone 3 lbs. to top it  all I found out I had type 2 diabetes. About 4 years ago I had a knee replacement followed by a hip replacement and I still not regret doing Judo and Sombo. This was a turning point for me as I began to walk better plus felt better in myself and to some degree the diabetes helped me, as I had to monitor what I eat and drunk. For the past year I have kept a record of every thing I have eaten and drunk including alcohol and the odd cake etc. The best I managed last year was 143.2 kilo/ 22 stone 7lbs Blood Pressure 127/59 pulse 59 great but yes there is always a but? Christmas came along and for 2 weeks I was not as strict with myself No I did not go mad but several Cakes, bottles of wine, assortment of cheese took their toll. I climbed to 149.8 kilo/ 23 stone 7lbs Blood pressure 148/78 Pulse 78.
The point I am making, as you get older slipping of the wagon is easy but the way back is even harder and longer I am now down to 147.8 kilo 23 stone 4lbs Blood Pressure 135/75 pulse 63 but it has taken me a month to lose just 2 kilo.
Some say Martin “get old gracefully enjoy yourself “ well I will worry about that when I am 90, my father died at 63 he was heavy smoker and drinker. I am now 63 and that’s not going to happen to me

Couple of interesting bits in the newspaper , he one about Council spending is an eye opener, how about the animal poofs Yes it seem some professor obviously Gay want  to promote Animal Homosexuality what a queer thing to say . Look at the price of cars

They squeal about cuts but the truth is town halls are spending more than ever - by fleecing you

Sir David Attenborough gets a mauling from academic....because he's 'ignoring' all the gay animals in his BBC nature documentaries
Homosexuality in animal world 'pretty much everywhere'
Dr Brett Mills says documentary makers are ignoring issue
As a result, audience's view of what is natural is being skewed
