ARE YOU SURPRISED?

I often ask questions to our local Politicians about the amount of Eastern Europeans working in the Swale Area especially Morrison’s, each time I get the reply no there is only a few most employed in the Warehouse most are Brits? Yet when you talk to people in the town you get a different story. The latest one is that the office staff in Morrison's is mainly Polish and the Brits are treated as 2^nd class. Polish is the main language spoken in the offices not English, units in other parts of the town have Eastern Europeans as floor managers discriminating against the British, on farms Agencies refusing to take on British on their books, Staff being employed on low hours ( I am told 20 )the rest made up with overtime so when times get hard they can reduce hours to a level where workers can no longer earn enough to survive. The other latest craze is for a couple of Eastern Europeans to rent a house and bring in another load of people to help pay rents and utilities etc without registering as an HMO

Of Course  it is all those lazy Brits fault they expect to work a 40 hour week on a sustainable living wage like they did 25 years ago but times have changed Employers, Banks, International Companies, Managing Directories need the money so they can make themselves even richer and what do our Masters do? tell us that every thing I have said is not true and people like me are scaremongering WELL AM I?

All those professional protesters, the cuddly animal brigade is out in force in demonstrating against the Badger Cull. These are the same people who released all the Mink into the wild, which caused mayhem amongst native wildlife in some cases changed the eco system. Do they think of the 10’s of thousands of cows being slaughtered? Do they think of the farmers being put in the scrap heap? Do they think of Farmers who have committed suicide, because they have lost their herds? Do they think of the Badgers and other wildlife affected by this disease? Do they look at the evidence of Ireland and New Zealand? The answer is No. They are too blinkered to see any other resolution to the TB crisis, then their own; in their arrogance they do not consider Human life on the same level as a Badger.

Dear Sir,

1. I read the letter on the letters to editor page on 28/8/13 which actively promotes the East of London airport option as opposed to expanding Heathrow. My view is the opposite and is contained in section 2 below whilst in section 3 I comment the why a letter promoting the East London option does not have the address printed.

The continued process whereby Heathrow has been previously promoted as the leading airport for London is ideally suited for business along with transport links appear to be have been conveniently forgotten by all parties who actively promoted this in previous years, by that I mean Governments, London politicians, business leaders, commentators and consultants.

However, now that the most viable and cheapest option is to expand Heathrow, revise/improve its transport links to existing infrastructure and where necessary add to current infrastructure is now being labelled as not acceptable by the same people who have bought and paid ludicrous amounts of money for property compared to normal UK property prices within an area surrounding one of worlds’ busiest airports and its approaches, combined with obviously no thoughts that this airport will ever expand. Whilst the politicians of all parties and their party members who currently live in the proposed enlarged expansion area are quite happy to promote spending  large amounts of public money or providing government backed private finance into blighting other areas and lives of people not affected by Heathrow expansion.

It is patently obvious that the most pro new airport commentators or their friends will be affected Heathrow expansion or have a vested interest in promoting new airport East of London, if anyone who lives in the area which will be effected by the Boris ‘Bluster’ Johnson airport project or an airport East of London is labelled as a Nimby, by those affected by the Heathrow expansion lobby or frightened of losing their lucrative consultancy status.

The latest propaganda by B Johnson airport faction to be reported in the media, is that it will only effect 36,000 people which is a blatant misrepresentation of reality for those who will be affected by the noise and pollution of an airport with four runways East of London, previously the number quoted was 306, 000 but even this is figure is equally false.

Also the people who are currently employed at Heathrow will not be able to transfer to the new airport or are they expected to travel on an already the crowded road and rail infrastructure across London or are they just expected to move house and families from a current established local area with amenities, another piece of social engineering by London politicians, government and so called expert consultants.

Those who do not reside within London boroughs or vote for Mayor of London see this airport promotion East of London as complete arrogance by London authorities and associated vested interests along with a breakdown of elected government and continued unwarranted London expansion/ interference in to other geographical areas and peoples’ lives.

1. I seriously question the fact that a letter which promotes the East of London airport option can be taken seriously or it is not just made up when the name is supplied but no address is given for which one can draw the following points:

1. That the person who wrote the letter does NOT have their main domestic residence in the borough of Swale for which this paper covers and as such will not be affected by the additional noise and air/ environmental pollution by an airport  East of London but is likely to be affected by Heathrow or Gatwick expansion.
2. That the person represents or is part of  a pressure group or an organisation opposed to Heathrow expansion, the person is part of lobby group promoting an airport east of London for London local government.
3. No person of normal intellectual competence would consider there is a security risk to printing the name and address of this person because this letters page regularly carries opposing views on various subjects and prints the aforementioned details.
4. The concept that a so called professional new paper prints letters with a name and no address shows a lack of accountability from the top down.
5. If the Editor deems to respond to section 3 then I request the response is copied to G Henderson MP Swale as per this correspondence.

Jamie Oliver Is he a liar?

Yesterday Jamie Oliver had an article about how poor people in the UK waste their money stating that they would rather buy articles like Large TV. Smoking drinking and buying takeaway I had to agree with him that by cooking and using fresh veg’s etc. you can save money and eat more healthily. Yet today he states that British People are lazy because they do not want to work an 80-hour week and complain because they have to work more the 48 hours a week. Where is he coming from no one should need to work more then 40 hours a week to get a living wage, those who work 80 hours a week are a health safety nightmare. Of course he prefers Foreign Labour they are cheap and if they working these sorts of hours they are akin to slave labour and if they are working these hours I would not trust the quality of the food. He says he worked 80 hours a week on a regular basis when?  He is only 38 and worth £150 million no ways does ne do those hours. He goes on to say he worked 15 hours a day at 13 years RUBBISH and go to his 450 year old Newport Grammar School and if he did do those hours his parents should have been charged with Child cruelty! One has to ask what does he pay his staff? Jamie is one of those employers who have driven Brits on the dole because of his insistence of employing cheap foreign slave labour, so he can continue to make his Millions. I will find it distasteful to watch his programs or buy his books from now on

This is for all the kids born in the 70's and after who do not know and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.  Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the '100 Women of the Century.'

BARBARA WALTERS WRITES:  Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.  The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.  In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the 'Hanoi Hilton.'

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a

visiting American 'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which sent that officer berserk.  In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the 'Hanoi Hilton'...the first three of which his family only knew he was 'missing in action'.  His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed treatment in preparation for a 'peace delegation' visit.  They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?'  Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat...At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POW's she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper...Three men died from the subsequent beatings.

Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development adviser in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.  I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border.

At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs). We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals...'  When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received...and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as 'humane and lenient.'

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.  I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of '100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget...'100 Years of Great Women' should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots. There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane 's participation in blatant treason, is one of them.

Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

Holiday on the Rhine

Our Holiday in Boppard (on the Rhine) Germany started off miserably we left Sittingbourne at 7am and arrived 6pm, Tunnel Train was 40 minutes late and then we had a load of traffic problem in both Belgium and Germany. Since 1966 I have been attending the Annual Martial Arts Course St Mary's Bay and then at Folkestone, the course was first organized by my Father John (Nobby) till 1990 and then by myself till 2011. Sadly the camp has stopped the Army who have taken over the ACF Camp have decided not to rent the facility to outside organizations, so much for customer loyalty we have been hiring ACF Facility for 41 years. This was the first time I have had holidays in August NEVER again

  

On holiday with me were the wife Val, daughter Susan and grand children Poppy and George. I rented an apartment on a working farm and was looking forward to letting the kids experience life on a farm, what a disappointment we were to have The apartment was excellent as were the views but the rest was shocking everything was unkempt and dirty, with cats and dogs wondering around defalcating every where with no one cleaning up the mess. The same was said of the horses every other stables I have visited stable personnel would regularly clear up the horse droppings not here, it seem they clean about every month leaving the manure on a trailer to mature and gather flies. Yet the kids thoroughly enjoyed the farm

The Rhine Valley is real treasure with lots of fairy tale castle and beautiful little villages If you like windy roads you will love driving into mountains, with roads doing multiple hairpins, couple this with shear drops of hundreds of feet on narrow roads, it certainly is an experience. Our Boat trip down the Rhine was a joy and most probably the best way to see the best of the Rhine Valley and I can recommend a holiday on the Rhine to everyone. Prices here are no dearer then in any tourist attraction in the UK in fact some things are cheaper diesel is  £1.29p per litre approx. £5.80p per gallon, in England its £6.21p per gallon a saving of 0.41p per gallon, I saved £16.40p on the trip and was a lot cheaper then petrol, can not understand why in the UK diesel is so much dearer then petrol must be the only country in the World where this happens? Some things in the Supermarkets like wine, spirits, cigars etc. were a lot cheaper this is down to the fact that we do not have the Euro thank God

The holiday was far from cheap £232 fuel, Farm apartment £600, AA Euro Cover extra £90, Insurance Euro Cover £25 that came to £947 Val and Susan paid for the food, trips, lunches out and kids treat that came to £800 so an all round cost of £1747 and I expect there were things I missed compare this with a holiday in Turkey All inclusive in October £840 for two. August is certainly rip of month

A farm holiday is not for everyone, the nearest shop or pub was 3 miles away from this farm is certainty would not suit my son John but a hotel on the Rhine would be ideal. Have visited Rudesheim am Rhein and this what you expect of a Rhine land town great place to stay in fact myself and Val are thinking of coming here next September 2014 really loved the place and it has nothing to do with the fact that Asbach Brandy is made here. If you use a car in Germany you soon have to learn to drive at high speeds I was traveling at 85 mph and still got flashed by White Van Man doing 100 plus and I expect the flashy cars were doing more. The views around the Rhine as I have said are spectacular only spoilt by those ugly wind turbines, which destroy wild birds, bats, blight people houses, become a noise nuisance, are an eye sore plus in building them they cause environment harm. So why do we have them? to produce a minuscule amount of  electricity and appease the green lobby At one point I saw approx. 30 of these ugly things grouped together it looked like some thing from the War of the Worlds

One major thing I noticed in this part of Germany all workers were German yes there were foreign owned shops but all shop, restaurant and shipping workers were German so why is it that German people are prepared to work in this industry yet in the UK most restaurant in tourist areas are Eastern European? My mother came from Westphalia Germany so I was used to very good service in shops, garages etc.  but in this part of the Country it seems more laid back as every cashier seem to enter a conversation with the customer  so buying fuel can take at least 10 minutes. My German has got rusty since my mother died in 2004 but was pleased to say it soon came back but I had forgot what vinegar was. So I tried explaining first by saying in German I want this item which is wine that is not wine, then wine that had gone of and so on by this time I had 4 shop workers round me scratching their heads. Eventually I came up with Chips, Salt and? Using various hand movement and it clicked and I got my vinegar. Vinegar is Essig 

The Rhine is not just a river for tourism it is very much a working river with big barges traveling to and through. On every barge they have a car perched on the back of the boat, so I wonder if they live on the barge? Also trains are very important in moving goods, I saw more goods trains then passenger trains the most trucks I counted was 40 trucks per train. I wonder why we in the UK do not use the Railway network and waterway to transport goods? I realise that it would be an expensive project but surely it would be more efficient, economical and mustn't forget the zeitgeist it would be more environmentally friendly

Good Holiday and would recommend Germany to anyone and I never lost my temper once with the kids who were well behaved for kids, but have to admit as you get older you learn to switch of easily

 

We did have a bit of Drama during the Holiday as most of you know Val is addicted to the Aldi, I have tried to wean her of and then they build one next to the Club in East Street and then she found Lidl and worse was to come while in Germany we came across NORMA and another outlet simular to Aldi. Once Val realise this her eyes lit up and there was a mad rush to the store. Even young George was saying this is Aldi I had to explain that this store was an undercover agent for Aldi. Have you missed me

While on Holiday in Germany I had to rely on my phone to access the internet I managed to get a good deal with 3 at £5 a day expensive it was unlimited downloads but it would not let me tether to my IPad. That is the reason you have not been bored with my blogs for the last week but I will make up for it

Can someone tell me why Stephen Fry or Ian Mckellen both homosexual actors who have been complaining about the Russian Olympics, been given access to the Prime Minister David Cameron? What makes them any difference to me or any of you? Cameron and Blair seem to have  obsession with Celebrities and the gay minority both should start to listen to the ordinary voter but then again we are not millionaires  with millionaire life style like those  mentioned above.

Also the Brazilian guy who was stopped at the Aeroport for carrying leaked documents abroad for his Gay boyfriend who worked for the Guardian (who else) has caused a big rumbas WHY? he was knowingly carrying stolen property (leaked is just a journalistic term for stolen), he then gave up the documents because he he was threatened with prison well what do you expect when you are in possession of stolen goods? The left wing Guardian does not care about the security of this country nor he safety of the British Public all they are interested in selling their newspaper and pedaling their own self centered ideology  

One piece of good news in the Humanist Group (who ever they are) have complained that there are many schools not promoting Homosexuallaity Hurrah but do not cheer to much the Pink Mafia and this Pro Gay anti Religion Government will soon stop them. Interestingly enough these people say that it is the democratic right for students to taught that Gay relationship is the same as normal sexed people and is a legal requirement, yet people who oppose this idea are not allowed to promote the fact that being Gay is abnormal  and Gay Marriage is wrong. It seems equality is for the Gay Community only.

I am 63 and when I was in my teens it was quite normal for Homos to be beaten up, blackmailed and not be employed at the time time I said what difference does it make when it comes to doing a job what you do in your bedroom, it should be the best person for the job as for queer bashing there is nothing brave or hard about a gang beating up one man. So it was only right being homosexual should be legalized and if a bloke wants to live with another man and share their income etc they should have some protection in Law so a civil partnership was devised. Yet now the pendulum has swung the other way Gays (as Homosexuals are now called) have more rights then us normal people or should I say hetrosexuals. They have positive discrimination in all aspects of the work place, they have extraordinary influence with in Government with the Prime Minister meeting Gay activists, the promotion of Gay life and activities has become an obsession with TV soaps and the film industry. The reality is that  people like me were tolerant of the rights of individual have come to realize is the Gay Movement are Political Activists so there fore they should be treated as a Political Party they already have their own flag and rallies which they call GAY PRIDE this where they parade all the various deviant sexual  behavior and costumes. It is time the Militant Gay Activities put themselves up for Parliament, Councils etc because the electorate were never asked about most of the laws on Gay Rights a prime example is Gay Marriage not one political party mentioned this in their manifesto. Democracy in the UK is a joke, time for a rethink where the voice of the people is heard again time to rid us of the Professional Political Elite in all parties

I hope our troops do not get involved in any Military Action in Syria or Egypt neither Countries problems are our business but I expect some Professional Do Gooders will say that it is our responsibility to protect these countries Human Rights NO! The UN is responsible and so are those Arab Countries who are their neighbours. Plus who would you support in Syria the so called rebels are backed by Al-Qaeda  and the Taliban, the Syrian Government ha always been anti British. Who ever we would support would eventually turn on us and become our enemy. The British Armed Forces are their to protect the British people and British interests not to be the Worlds Police Force.

I have always admired Stephen Fry as an Actor and Presenter, most of all he kept his sexualality private, unlike a lot of others Gay people who use there abnormal sexual behavior to promote themselves. So I was disappointed when he used his Twitter account (which I am told is the biggest in the World) to promote Same Sex Marriage now he is embroiled in trying to stop the Russian Olympics, because the Russian people do not agree with promoting Gay Sex as normal.

First of all "Who is Stephen Friar?" He is an Actor and Presenter nothing more so why is he given so much coverage by the Press and Media? It seem Celebrities especially Gay ones have to much influence, surely it about time the Press, Media and Government started listening to Joe Public not these self gratifying celebrities.

The idea of changing the venue at this late is ridiculous and impractical. If it did happen none of the Eastern Block countries would attend. Plus all these people protesting will make no difference to President Putin,  he will harden his resolve and what of all the Athletes who have given up years of their lives to compete a chance most them will never have again, remember there will also be a small amount of Gay People in amongst them . They will be the ones who will suffer not the likes of Stephen Fry and al his mates, they will achieve nothing but what they will gain is  lot of publicity which will help their flagging careers

Why  is it wrong for the Russians to ban Gay Propaganda? All they are saying that the promotion of abnormal sexual habits is not right.  Being Homosexual and lesbian is not illegal in Russia thankfully. One newspaper has mentioned that if an athlete stood on a rostrum and claimed they were Gay etc they would be arrested? why should they do this would  normal sex person stand up and say I am Straight?
