Bar Area |
I
am on Holiday in Les Alicourts Resort Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre,
France. This site is for Caravans, Tents and Chalets and is brilliant
can recommend it to any one Swimming pools, Bar, Restaurant, Take
Away, shops, Kids play area, fishing lake and swimming lake
brilliant. It is situated in the Loire Region a very beautiful area
and out of season it cost me £450 for 10 days including cost of
Tunnel good value for money goes up to £1200 in high season not
sure that is good value.
Pool Side |
The
Chalet we were in was small but comfortable for two of us but they
certainly do not build these for people my size the toilet was as
about the width of my shoulders, showers slightly bigger. The so
called double bed was only big enough for me and the mattress was of
poor quality which gave me aches and pains first thing in the morning
all week.
Indoor Pool |
Yet
after saying that the region is quite beautiful with lots of lakes,
chateaus and churches plenty of places to visit. What I found amazing
was there is very little traffic and the roads are straight for miles
in this region maybe someone can explain the history of that.
The Loire |
The
towns and villages seem to have very few people milling about and
their opening hours are like the UK was in the 1950’s. Shops do not
open on a Monday, Supermarket open till 12.30 on a Sunday (that I
think is a good idea) most shops, businesses seem to close for 1 to 2
hours at Dinner time and restaurants open 12 noon till 2pm and then
in the evening. So a very much a cultural difference from the UK
which makes the holiday more interesting as it seems the rest of the
World is being homogenised
