Bromwich
Albion's pre-season tour
- James McClean joined West Brom from Wigan during the summer
- The 26-year-old agreed a three-year deal with the Premier League side
- McClean turned his back on the British national anthem during West Brom's pre-season friendly against Charleston Battery
- He previously refused to wear a poppy on his kit while playing for Sunderland and Wigan
- The Republic of Ireland midfielder has been warned by Tony Pulis
This man is a disgrace and should be
sacked.
I have taken many competitors to
International Judo, Sambo and Jiu Jitsu events and when ever a
Countries National Anthem was played you would stand in silence or if
you knew the words to the Anthem you would sing them. This was just a
matter of good manners and respect. With regard to the wearing of a
Poppy. I think this moron McClean should be reminded that in both
World Wars men and women from the Republic of Ireland died. The Poppy
not only represents those who gave their lives it but it also
represents the battle to keep this country and the Republic of
Ireland a free and democratic country.
