Local MP, Gordon Henderson, is pressing the new coalition government to not forget the needs of local manufacturers when allocating funds for the extra apprenticeship places it has promised.
The Government has pledged £775 million to fund 50,000 new apprenticeship places, focussed on small and medium enterprises. This is part of an intiative to get Britain working again by finding ways to support the creation of apprenticeships, internships, work pairings, and college and workplace training places.
Whilst welcoming the announcement, Mr Henderson urged ministers to consider fully funding NVQ Level 3 apprentices to ensure that enough skilled technicians and craftsmen are available once the economy picks up.
In a speech he is to make to Parliament, Mr Henderson said: “I very much hope that some of the money promised for apprenticeships will be set aside to help companies train more apprentices to NVQ Level 3. And boy do they need help!
“One of the problems is that currently employers can recoup only the training costs associated with apprentices and not the salaries of their unskilled new recruits. In the current economic climate many manufacturing simply companies cannot afford to take on apprentices, particularly at the higher level. We need to start thinking ahead. We need to help those companies get through the difficult times by subsiding the salaries of higher level apprentices.
“In my own constituency of Sittingbourne and Sheppey we have the only steel works in the South of England. Thamesteel has excellent training facilities and turns out highly skilled technicians. But like many other manufacturing companies it is suffering from the economic downturn and can no longer afford to take on as many apprentices as it would like, even though they will need skilled technicians once the economic situation improves.
“Now it is a sad fact that many of those who reach an NVQ Level 2 are not able to find employment, nor can they get onto an NVQ Level 3 course. However, the experience of Thamesteel is that all their NVQ Level 3 graduates find permanent employment, because they are highly sought after by other local companies who recognise the quality of their training.
“But that training is at risk because of the lack of proper funding. In Germany there is a comparable steel works to Thamesteel which operates an apprentice scheme fully funded by the state, including salaries.
“That steel plant trains up to three times more engineering apprentices than they actually require. On completion of their apprenticeship those fully qualified technicians and craftsmen are snapped up by other local small and medium sized businesses which do not have their own training facilities.
“Is it any wonder that Germany is the industrial power house of Europe? If we are really serious about building a high skilled economy in our country wouldn’t investing in NVQ Level 3 apprentices, in the same way that the Germans do, be a way of achieving that goal?”

Mothers
Motherhood
No 1
Friday 1pm Sittingbourne High Street
Mother aged between 16 and 19, with child of approx 3 years
The Mother was dressed high heels, short skirt, made up as though going to night club, these are quite common in the High Streets of GB even seen alone or accompanied by spotty youth wearing shirt around waist sporting several Tattoos.
Child:” I want an ice cream”, starts to cry
Mother: Smack child round face “I told you aint getting no f**king ice cream, where do you think I get the f**king money from you little b**ard “hits the child again then throws empty alcohol pop bottle away.
A Mother chastising her son in the Garden
Mother: “I told you to pick those f**king toys up”
Son: “B**locks”
Mother: “Don’t you f**cking swear at me you little b**ard”
Mother and Son about 13, in Sainsbury’s Headcorn a rather select village/town, mother a rather fat women in her mid 30’s wearing skimpy clothing which would look nice on a Girl half her age and 2/3 her size
Son: “We will be late for the England game”
Mum: “F**k the football you little pr**k”
Son: “But mum you promised”
Mum “Shut your face for I kick you up the a*se, you and your f**king father think I am some sort of c**t.
Hopefully these are not typical examples of modern day motherhood
I am old fashioned and believe when in the presence of women and children you do not use foul language but that is now a thing of the past and is why I very rarely go in a pub any more with wife. Some years ago I was in Scotland and entered what I call a mans pub, as soon as my wife entered the Landlord shouted Lady in Bar and the swearing ceased. It seems the women are as bad as the men for swearing, drinking pints and bragging about their sexual exploits. My last visit to a Pub nearly ended in an altercation when I asked 4 men to moderate their language they took this as an affront to their freedom of speech and carried on till I explained that I had the right to protect my wife from such filth and gestured they may want to desist which they did. My wife an ex landlady said she had heard worse but that was not the point. So I now find it difficult to go any where without hearing swearing.
It has now crept into FaceBook any one using bad language on my face book I delete as again people must have a very low vocabulary to actual right a swear word, mind you the rate I am going I doubt whether I will have any friends on Face Book it seems twitter is better

Was it One Finger or Two Fingers
One Finger Salute sent to me by an American Friend
I never knew this before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to send it on to my more intelligent friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as 'plucking the yew' (or 'pluck yew').
Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as 'giving the bird.'
IT IS STILL AN APPROPRIATE SALUTE TO THE FRENCH TODAY!

Somali Gangsters
Somalia Gangsters
A friend of mine an ex Paratrooper related a story to me the other day which I think is quite shocking.
He has a grown up daughter, the mother went on to have another relationship and had more children. Her Son got involved with some Somali Gangsters sorry refugees and would be their delivery boy for their drug trade. His mother found out about this and had enough influence over the boy to make him stop, he went back to the Somali’s and was told if would not deliver drugs he would have to patrol the Tower Block they all lived in as a guard and was given a gun to do the job. They boy refused and was told that they the Somali’s owned him, he went and told his older brother who took him straight to the Police.
Police Advice:
This brilliant piece of advice was given by the Police, he was told to move as far away as possible not only him but the whole of his family which they have all done including my friends daughter.
Is this story true I do not know but I have no reason to doubt my friend but it I backed by the amount of reports about the criminal activities of the Somalis’. So do the Met Police do anything about these Somali’s who are in this country under sufferance NO, does the government who will not help British Subjects who are being held hostage by Somali Pirates and are allowing these thugs to live in our country do anything NO.

The Budget
The Budget
I expect like most people the Budget is still a bit of a mystery but there are a couple of points which I would like to make:
1) The current problem was made by the last Labour government and its ineptitude over the last 13 years. So it is rather galling when Labour criticise and appear on Political Programmes
2) 20% is the right way to go but I get fed up with Labour Politicians and their lackeys in the press saying will hurt the poorest families. Surely the poorest in our society who have become poorer under Labour, first requirements are Food (No Vat), Children’s Clothing (No VAT) and a roof over their heads, the rent being paid for by their local Council. So instead of changing to a new Flat Screen TV they will have to make do with the old one. Some say it will make us more frugal and not spend so much but in reality it will make no difference, when the government dropped VAT to 15% it had no effect and nor will the extra 2.5%. For example a £500 TV now you will pay £87.50p VAT at in January you will pay £100 VAT an extra £12.50p you honestly going to tell me that will stop you buying the item?
3) Why have any Child Benefit! If you have children that is your decision so why should the TAX Payer help and if you got pregnant by accident why should the Tax Payer pay for your mistakes
4) They say we have Millions unemployed, so why has the government not done anything to remove the Million of Legal and illegal Foreign workers? Is it because British Companies and their share holders are making millions out of this low paid scab work force at the expense of the British Workers

Mail article on Bloody Sunday
A Saville scapegoat, and it was never going to be McGuinness
I think Ted Heath’s government should have fallen immediately after Bloody Sunday. It was their fault, and if – as I believe – Londonderry is a British city, such a major miscalculation and blunder should have brought them down.
Imagine if the killings had happened in, say, Portsmouth.
The resignation of Mr Heath would have been an apology worth having – as well as perhaps sparing us several other horrors of that nasty Cabinet, which took us into the EU, massacred scores of good grammar schools and destroyed traditional local government.
So, for me, the Saville inquiry comes a long time too late, and is too hard on the Army, especially Lt Col Derek Wilford, who has been unfairly treated because of the need for a scapegoat.
But there is one good outcome. We can now quote Lord Saville’s report as confirmation that the sinister and unrepentant Martin McGuinness was ‘adjutant of the Derry Brigade’ of the Provisional IRA.
In other words, the man shamefully elevated into ministerial office by that modern-day Munich deal, the Good Friday Agreement, was the senior godfather of a criminal murder gang.
We are also told: ‘He [McGuinness] was probably armed with a Thompson sub-machine gun, and though it is possible that he fired this weapon, there is insufficient evidence to make any finding on this.’
Well, I think it interesting that Martin McGuinness is given the benefit of the doubt

Labour's Legacy
Labour's legacy to Britain
Labour left us with no money - only waste and debt:
- They left every man, woman and child owing £22,400
- They gave us one of the worst budget deficits in Europe
- They left 2.47 million people out of work
- And they sold off Britain's gold at a 20-year low in the market.
Unless we act now to deal with this crisis, interest payments in five years' time could end up being higher than the amount we spend on schools, climate change and transport.
That's why we have to do something about it. The cuts that are coming are Labour's cuts.

Bloody Sunday
Bloody Sunday
The Bloody Sunday Report has now finished a report that cost Millions of pounds 50% going to make lawyers very rich, one must ask the question this money could have been spent on Schools and Hospitals. The outcome was a for gone conclusion the only people to blame were the Paratroopers Why because this was a Milk Sop to the IRA so they would stop murdering innocent people and agree to the Good Friday agreement. Some may say the price was worth paying.
All those killed were innocent demonstrators the report tells us and we have to accept that but certain questions will need to be answered and hopefully over the coming weeks as the full report is digested in details they will be. Questions I would like to know
1) How come a well trained unit like 1 Para went berserk or did they?
2) Was Martin Guinness seen with a sub Machine Gun and what role did he play in Bloody Sunday?
3) Why has there never been an enquiry of such detail on atrocities committed by the IRA such as Warren Point?
4) Were rocks and bottles thrown by the demonstrators?
It has been reported that Para’s can not be tried for murder as they have immunity when attending the hearing but they can be charged with perjury if that is the case will all demonstrators who lied on oath be charged with perjury? Already one of the soldiers solicitors have said that his client shot the bullet that killed a protester as they have the bullet, yet the bullet passed through other objects before hitting the man. So did the Soldier intend to kill?
Many IRA murderers have been released from prison because of the Good Friday Agreement, the IRA and their Catholic supporters have won the Battle of violence, murder and intimidation mainly due to the surrender by the Blair Government so now is the time to put it all behind us and bury the past. Northern Ireland has returned to normality let it stay there

It's funny how people get upset about the strangest of things an item appeared on my facebook using the word F**K I do not like this type of language so I replied

Re: Homosexualls
You could not leave a reply because you unfriended me. Have you not read your own blog? In the first couple of pages the word homo comes up in three blog post titles.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not a huge gay rights supporter. I think they should be treated just like everyone else but I just find it ironic that the 'f' word is offensive to you yet you feel ok using the word homo which is a known derogatory slag term just as Fag is used here in the USA. I guess that if you feel homo is not a slur then that is another thing but that is not common usage and you know it is not.
Yes he was right I had used the word Homo but in the title of the article the headings being copied from Newspaper articles, because I am critical of minority groups who get preferable treatment over others I listed as homophobic, Anti women or racist. Yet one tittled "Prison for Homo's" I said it was disgusting that two guys were put in prison for 14 years just because they were homosexual So I am dammed if I do and dammed if I don't
I do not think it would look very good if a head of organisation goes around writing letters using bad language

Scotland loath the English
I have no interest in Football and it escapes me that it is called the beautiful game but what I can not understand he the attitude of some Scotsman when it comes to the English . In Scotland they selling T shirts with "I support Scotland and any one else but England" plus many other such slogans, even Scotsman who live locally including my son in law loath the English Football Team. Is it because the Scottish very rarely qualify and the Scots feel sub standard I do not know, yet in Afghanistan Scots , English, Welsh and Irish fight and die together, our troops have done this for centuries. Some say its just the social outcasts who are like this but can you remember Andy Murray's outburst. My Friends in the Martial Arts World do not have the same narrow view so why the rest

Our Troops
This Saturday saw the Annual “Trooping of the Colour” I do love the Pageantry only the British can do properly, this year they also showed the Grenadier Guards in Action in Afghanistan. I feel a great sense of pride in these young men and women who are prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice “Their life for the benefit of others”
I never wanted to join the forces I but have known and taught lots of Armed forces Personnel and do feel some regret that there was not Conscription when I was 18 years old, I would have done my 2 years and most probably enjoyed it. Yet I was dismayed the other day while talking to a neighbour where he told me of a situation where a serviceman just back from Afghanistan decide he wanted to buy a house in Sittingbourne and settle his family only to be told his two children of Secondary school age could not be accommodated in any of our schools in the area. Now if that is true that is an absolute disgrace considering some of our schools have taken on Afghan refugees, immigrants children many who can not even speak the language, yet when one of our own wants access NO JOY, here are men and women who put their lives on the line for their country so surely they should be treated as exceptional cases but then again the Left wing Guardian readers would not like that

Cuts in Uni
Whinging Students
The Government have said that the cost of Universities has to be cut and I quite agree hear are some ideas
!) Lecturers earn their money by taking more lectures, this way we can cut back on lecturers
2) Cut back on research, this is a luxury the Public can only afford when times are prosperous, get the private sector to fund this
3) Shortened the Holidays Christmas 1 week, Easter 1 week, Summer 3 weeks, that’s about what the rest of us get and you would be able to cut the courses down by at least a year. Government save money and the students do not spend so much.
Pubs and Clubs in University Towns are booming yet Students have no money? Students have no money but manage to go on a Gap year?
With 45% of youngsters going to University, there is over kill many can not get jobs after they graduate, many courses are not worth the paper they are written on are invented to so more Tutors get jobs and various governments can say how marvellous they are, What this country needs is tradesman Plumbers, Carpenters, Electricians etc then maybe we can get rid of all this foreign labour which has added to our crisis. Or do the middle classes think letting their children go into trade is demeaning

Hard Times Ahead
Hard times ahead
Because of Labour mismanagement the UK is heading for hard times and our new coalition government have told us we the public can put our suggestions forward.
With riots in Spain, Greece and the TUC predicting the same will happen in the UK when the Public Sector pay cuts hits there will be trouble ahead, interestingly enough when all the foreign labour were taking Englishman’s jobs the TUC were very silent .
Has anyone thought of curbing the extravagances of the European Union, we in GB contribute £40 million a day to this corrupt organisation, the obvious answer is to leave but that will not happen as too many politicians have their finger in the pie. One answer is to trim their Civil Service by say 30% this would save us £12 million a day another idea is to send all the foreign cheap labour working on the Olympics back home, I recently read that 70% of the Labour on this project was foreign. Give there jobs to Englishman who would no longer claim the Dole and would pay tax on their earnings.
Finally on a Local level why did Morrison’s bring 200 foreign workers from the North down to the new Ware House those jobs should have gone to local workers and one final point when the company who bought the old Mill site apply for housing permission the Council should only agree if they employ English workers and a penalty clause should be included to make sure they do.
I hope our New MP Gordon Henderson can put these ideas forward to the PM

Clarke Family visit Turkey

Holiday in Turkey
I organised a holiday in Kalkan Turkey for myself and Valerie plus 5 grandchildren, John, Vicky, Susan and Anthony. In January 2010 I was 60 and we celebrated our 40th wedding so I thought I would splash out and make this a memorable year. A five bedroom Villa was hired which had a swimming pool, marvellous view plus much more it was not cheap but worth every penny and I could recommend it to anyone. Why not have a look on the internet at http://www.kalamardream.com/index.html
Kalkan is a small Mediterranean resort known as the Beverley Hills of the Turquoise Coast. Cobbled streets wind down to the small harbour where visiting yachts lie at anchor and gullets line up to take visitors out to Snake or Mouse islands which appear to float on the crystal clear water. Kalkan is a small town with a cosy intimate feel about it, the visitors return year after year, and many have purchased properties and built new lives there, enjoying at least 300 days of sunshine and far away from the pressure of the outside world

The family had a great time the weather was great, food was great, the sea was like a tepid bath and the people were the most friendly you could meet. The whole place was clean beyond belief every toilet was tiled top to bottom and regularly cleaned, it is a hilly area and having my new hip only 10 weeks ago I am not back to the fitness I would like to be, so puffing, panting and sweating was order of the day.
Turkey is no longer cheap prices have risen dramatically since I was there last June. The roads and the driving leave a lot to be desired and the fact the airport was a two hours drive gave a lot of comments from the kids “We nearly there” but the beauty of the whole coast line made up for this.
Scooters seem to be the main mode of transport it is nothing to see a whole family on one scooter, Mum, Dad and two children, plus who needs a truck to transport good when you have a scooter.
Turkey is well worth a visit, the only thing that puts me of returning is the journey!
Why? well I live with in an hour of Gatwick we are told we now have to arrive three hours in advance, three hours in a place with extortionate prices, then on aeroplane with seats so small my knees touch the seat in front and my shoulders wider then the seat, four more hours of frustration, then two more hours going through Dalaman airport, then a further two hours car drive, A 12 hour journey and you arrive in the foulest of moods not a good way to start a holiday. On our return we spent over an hour checking in, why they do not allocate seats and tickets in advance is beyond me then all you need to do is go to Bag drop of point to off load your suit cases. Dalaman air port is even more expensive you are no longer allowed to bring bottled water in so you are forced to buy water at £2.50p a bottle, small beer is £7 and a snickers bar is £3.50p, Dalaman airport is a total rip off. Yet I endured all of that and still had a good holiday
DO TRY KALKAN TURKEY

RAPE AT 10?
Two 10 year colds are convicted of raping an 8 years. I find it hard to believe that a 10 year old is capable of this but I am not surprised as Society is obsessed with sex, from advertising, films, Internet. educating children as young as 5 and 6 in sex acts. Our Country has the worst u16 teenage pregnancies in the Western World and do we condemn them NO we make excuses for them and what do the great and good tell us "There is not enough Sex Education" yet statistically more the more sex education we give the more teenage pregnancies, no matter how many free condoms we give out.
Traditional Programmes on radio and TV would portray moral values not any more money and sexual gratification of Producers is the name of the game. Take the Archers "a story of Country Folk" teenage children just turn up at their parents house and hop into bed together, a 17 year old is going with a 29 year old the parents do not agree with the relationship but they know she started sleeping with him within a Fee weeks of meeting. Now I am 60 so obviously am well out of date with everything can some one tell me this is the way all youngsters behave because I never allowed my children to sleep together until they were married in my house. Finally at least they are doing something that is natural but one 30 year old in the programme is have Artificial Insemination because she WANTS a child but does not want the burden of having a man I wonder if she thought of the rights of the unborn child to be born the way God intended

Prison fo Homo's?
Most of you know I am contiually writing about how Homosexuals get preferential Treatment over Hetrosexual males with Positive Discrimination. I do not agree with Homosexuals getting maried (Civil Partnership is not marriage), I do not agree with Homosexuals adopting, I do not like the word Gay being used for the sexual practice and i still think Homosexuallity is abnormal and should be taught in school that it is abnormal. Because like everyone who challenges the Homosexual life style I therefore must be Homophobic and peopel like DR think because of this I am a closet Homo.
Yet after all this I can not see why in Malawi 2 homosexuals were jailed for 14 years because of their sexual orinantation, why should a person be imprisoned for sleeping with someone of their choice? I have listed my complaints against the homosexual Society but can not see no point in making Homosexuallty illegal what purpose would it serve it certainly would not stop people being Homosexual and do the Malawians believe that the practise will stop in Prison I do not think so

Immigrant Sex
What are your opinions of this Joke sent to me by a Sambo friend in USA
Sex With an Illegal Immigrant -
An illegal immigrant picks up a hooker. "Hey, how much you charge for da hour, sister?" he asks.
"$100," she replies.
In broken English, he says, "Do you do immigrant style?"
"No" she says.
"I pay you $200 to do immigrant style."
"No," she says, not knowing what immigrant style is.
"I pay you $300."
"No," she says.
"I pay you $400."
"No," she says.
So finally he says, "OK, I pay $1,000 to do immigrant style."
She thinks, "Well, I've been in the game for over 10 years now. I've had every kind of request from weirdoes from every part of the world. How bad could immigrant style be?"
So she agrees and has sex with him. Finally, after several hours, they finish. Exhausted, the hooker turns to him and says, "Hey, I was expecting something perverted and disgusting. But that was good. So, what exactly is immigrant style?"
The illegal immigrant replies, "You send bill to Government."
AND THAT MY FRIENDLY TAXPAYERS , IS EXACTLY HOW THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE SCREWING US!

A Riposte to England, My England
I had this poem sent to me by a total stranger just shows how many people read my Blog. Read my reply at the bottom
My Reply:-
Everyone's England ( A riposte to 'England, My England')
By David M Turner
Now England once was a country it's true,
But its name and its rulers came out of the blue
From Germany where the Angles were great.
They came to the help of a poor Roman state
Whose legions had gone back over the sea
To defend their own city in warm Italy.
King Arthur's great country was soon overrun
With Angles and Saxons who thought it was fun
To turn on the Celts who had no fighting band
And rename the country Angleland.
Then the Danes came to eat up a piece of the pie
So the Celts had to flee to the West or else die.
While Saxons and Danes were squabbling over
Romano-Britain's grass and sweet clover
A Bastard in France had his eye on the country
And slipped over the Channel with his Norman army.
The English beat off the Danes in the North
Then down to the South they quickly set forth.
But Harold their King took his eye off the battle.
The English were lost and enslaved as French cattle.
After some time - The Norman blood faded
Henry Tudor the Taffy and his army invaded.
Now England was Welsh and ruled by a Prick,
But the Welsh Prick's son could not do the trick.
He left a woman in charge of Olde England.
In her lifetime she tried to conduct the band,
But when the witch died it all turned to disaster.
Then it was the turn of a Scot to be Master!
King James the Sixth came hurrying south
With his strange ideas and a big foolish mouth.
When his heirs tried bring back the Catholic religion
Great Britain said no to dispute and division.
The only choice left was to invite the Dutch
And give Britain into King William's clutch.
Once again the top cock could not do the trick
So to Deutch Land they looked for another big prick!
So who are the English? The Celts or the Germans?
The Danes the Norwegians, the frenchified Normans?
Bastards the Italians knitted and purled,
Or slaves they brought from the old Roman World?
So just face the truth we're a bit of a mix,
A mongerel breed that needs the odd fix
Of new blood that comes from that strange place - abroad
From Ireland and Europe and Asia's great horde
And Africa's plains, from where we all come.
For under the skin we are all just the same.
If Britain is great this is why it is should be -
Here everyone has the right to be free.

Sir, I am a true labourer: I earn that I eat, get that I wear, owe no man hate,
envy no man's happiness, glad of other men's good, content with my harm
You may think England is the Land of the Free I do not we have massive ammounts of legislation forbidding to do things, we have laws that given priority to certains groups, we have laws which give English companies the power to employ foreign labour to the detrement of its own populace purely on adding more profit for comapny directors and share holders, we have countless laws that put on us by a foreign power i.e. EU you may think you are free but you are no more then a slave with a vote

LibDems and Human Rights
I recently wrote how marvellous it was to have a Coalition Government rather then have a Labour Government and lots of critics have said the whole thing would end in failure, well the doubters may be right!
Two issues have come to the fore in the last two days which Tories are getting upset about
1) Fox Hunting. The fox is a lovely looking creature but also is a vicious killer who will kill for the sake of killing I have seen the damage when I worked on a farm. I like many others thought it was a disgrace that under the last government more Parliamentary time was spent on Fox hunting then was spent on sending British Troops being sent to war and the same must be said this time round there are more pressing things this country needs then to worry about a fox. I am told there are more killed by shooting and other means then were killed by hunting, I personally do not care either way
2) European Human Rights Act: This is one that does concern me greatly and I would suggest a lot of other people as well, the latest release of Pakistani Terrorists because of this act is just one of a long run of evil people being released. Of course the greedy Human Rights Lawyers enjoy great riches defending these people who want to kill British Subjects and they continually use the excuse take them to court knowing full well for the security services to reveal all the information would jeopardise future investigation and people lives. The Judge who released them even said he was sure after seeing the evidence in private the Pakistanis were active members of a Islamic terrorist group and were a threat to GB but he had to release them because Pakistan supposedly allow torture. It seems the LibDems do not want the European Human Rights Act got rid of the Tories want a British Bill of Rights instead something they promised in the last election. The LibDems have said they will not support this and David Cameron has back tracked and agreed to their demands telling us that with a Coalition you do not always get what you want true but also the LibDems must recognise they are the minority party and very much so. At the moment it seems the tail is wagging the dog.
Can I suggest a compromise put contentious issues like this to a referendum, all we hear from Nick Clegg is complete shake up of the democratic system more accountability etc as long as it does not go against LibDems policy. I want this government to work but if fundamental issues like this are to be given up every time the LibDems have a Paddy on then it will be doomed to disaster
