Prepare For Change..THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL EMAIL!
Whether these changes are good or bad depends in part on how we adapt to them. But, ready or not, here they come!
1. The Post Office. Get ready to imagine a world without the post office. They are so deeply in financial trouble that there is probably no way to sustain it long term. Email, Fed Ex, and UPS have just about wiped out the minimum revenue needed to keep the post office alive. Most of your mail every day is junk mail and bills.
2. The Check. Britain is already laying the groundwork to do away with checks by 2018. It costs the financial system billions of dollars a year to process checks. Plastic cards and online transactions will lead to the eventual demise of the check. This plays right into the death of the post office. If you never paid your bills by mail and never received them by mail, the post office would absolutely go out of business.
3. The Newspaper. The younger generation simply doesn't read the newspaper. They certainly don't subscribe to a daily delivered print edition. That may go the way of the milkman and the laundry man. As for reading the paper online, get ready to pay for it. The rise in mobile Internet devices and e-readers has caused all the newspaper and magazine publishers to form an alliance. They have met with Apple, Amazon, and the major cell phone companies to develop a model for paid subscription services.
4. The Book. You say you will never give up the physical book that you hold in your hand and turn the literal pages. The same thing about downloading music from iTunes. Some want a hard copy CD. But quickly changed their minds when they discovered that they could get albums for half the price without ever leaving home to get the latest music. The same thing will happen with books. You can browse a bookstore online and even read a preview chapter before you buy. And the price is less than half that of a real book. And think of the convenience! Once you start flicking your fingers on the screen instead of the book, you find that you are lost in the story, can't wait to see what happens next, and you forget that you're holding a gadget instead of a book.
5. The Land Line Telephone. Unless you have a large family and make a lot of local calls, you don't need it anymore. Most people keep it simply because they're always had it. But you are paying double charges for that extra service. All the cell phone companies will let you call customers using the same cell provider for no charge against your minutes.
6. Music. This is one of the saddest parts of the change story. The music industry is dying a slow death. Not just because of illegal downloading. It's the lack of innovative new music being given a chance to get to the people who would like to hear it. Greed and corruption is the problem. The record labels and the radio conglomerates simply self-destruction. Over 40% of the music purchased today is "catalog items," meaning traditional music that the public is familiar with. The older established artists. This is also true on the live concert circuit. 7. Television. Revenues to the networks are down dramatically. Not just because of the economy. People are watching TV and movies streamed from their computers. And they're playing games and doing all lots of other things that take up the time that used to be spent watching TV. Prime time shows have degenerated down to lower than the lowest common denominator. Cable rates are skyrocketing and commercials run about every 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I say good riddance to most of it It's time for the cable companies to be put out of our misery. Let the people choose what they want to watch online and through Netflix.
8. The "Things" That You Own. Many of the very possessions that we used to own are still in our lives, but we may not actually own them in the future. They may simply reside in "the cloud." Today your computer has a hard drive and you store your pictures, music, movies, and documents. Your software is on a CD or DVD, and you can always re-install it if need be. But all of that is changing. Apple, Microsoft, and Google are all finishing up their latest "cloud services." That means that when you turn on a computer, the Internet will be built into the operating system. So, Windows, Google, and the Mac OS will be tied straight into the Internet. If you click an icon, it will open something in the Internet cloud. If you save something, it will be saved to the cloud. And you may pay a monthly subscription fee to the cloud provider.
In this virtual world, you can access your music or your books, or your whatever from any laptop or handheld device. That's the good news. But, will you actually own any of this "stuff" or will it all be able to disappear at any moment in a big "Poof?" Will most of the things in our lives be disposable and whimsical? It makes you want to run to the closet and pull out that photo album, grab a book from the shelf, or open up a CD case and pull out the insert.
9. Privacy. If there ever was a concept that we can look back on nostalgically, it would be privacy. That's gone. It's been gone for a long time anyway. There are cameras on the street, in most of the buildings, and even built into your computer and cell phone. But you can be sure that 24/7 "They" know who you are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates, and the Google Street View. If you buy something, your habit is put into a zillion profiles, and your ads will change to reflect those habits. And "They" will try to get you to buy something else. Again and again!
All we will have that can't be changed are memories!

PAKISTAN and did you know
PAKISTAN
Please take time to read this whole article. It was a real eye-opener for me. It is worth reading it. It certainly is food for thought.

Before talking about the disaster in Pakistan , I would like to tell you about this marvelous “killing machine” called F-16. You know what a F-16 is, don’t you? Well, it’s one of the most popular fighter planes in the world.
They cost approximately $40 million each. And of course, during its lifetime, it will have cost one and half the purchase price for maintenance, repairs (and windshield washer – you wouldn’t believe the insane price of each can of windshield washer that these toys use).
So, coming back to the disaster in Pakistan . Terrible! If we weren’t talking about a muslim country, we could refer to the flooding as being of biblical proportions: 20,000,000 disaster victims. Just appalling.
Over the last two or three days we’ve been hearing voices accusing the West ( Canada and United States ) of a lack of generosity towards a very seriously afflicted Pakistan . People are being told off in Canada , France and Great-Britain. In yesterday’s La Presse, my colleague Marie-Claude Malboeuf mentioned that a humanitarian coalition had barely collected $200,000.00 for Pakistan whereas, during the same period of time, a phenomenal sum of $3,600,000.00 was collected for Haitians after the earthquake that devastated their country. The NGO (non-governmental organizations) are “stamping their feet”. They are getting impatient. They are clamoring of catastrophe and cholera. The most tragic thing is that they are probably right.
Internationally, the UNO has collected only 40% of the 460 million dollars needed for urgent aid. Nick Clegg, deputy prime minister of England has berated the international community for its stinginess: “The reaction of the international community is deplorable.”
But I’m extrapolating. I was talking about the F-16. Quite recently, a country acquired a brand new fleet of twenty or so of these fantastic killers in the air.
Which country was this now?
Yep, PAKISTAN .
Before going any further, I’m warning you: the writer of this article is a naïve journalist. A naïve journalist who admits it candidly and who wants to know: If Pakistan had $1,4 billion to acquire fighter planes from Lockheed very recently, why doesn’t Pakistan have $460 million to help its own “drenched” citizens?
I apologize to the Red Cross, to CARE, to Oxfam and other non-governmental organizations, but I, for one, will not give one red penny towards the humanitarian relief in Pakistan .
I will NOT give a penny to help Pakistan because Pakistan never had any problem buying military equipment or getting financial help to buy some.
I don’t mind helping Haiti , a small country that has nothing (except corrupted rulers). I don’t mind giving for help to Africa ; it’s the least I can do.
I will not give to Pakistan as I will not give to the New Orleans fishermen who have lost their source of income since the oil disaster caused by BP in the Gulf of Mexico .
Zachary Richard (a Cajun singer from New Orleans ) is going to produce, with the help of many Quebecois singers, a CD which profits will be given to the New Orleans fishermen. Then, they’re planning a charity concert. Concerts are very nice. Musical charity is very nice too. And I do sympathize with the New Orleans fishermen.
But here again, it’s your naïve journalist who is talking. I wonder why I should give one penny to the inhabitants of the richest country in the history of humanity, whose source of income was annihilated by a giga-multinational company with a market valuation of $120 billion US, and belonging to one of the most lucrative industries – energy – on this planet. It seems to me that the United States of America , that BP, that the energy industry have enough money to compensate the New Orleans fishermen and their families and the offspring of their families until 2060, at least.
But let’s come back to PAKISTAN . On July 19th, the New York Times published a condemning article on the tax system of Pakistan . A banana republic tax system, where the rich concocted a way to avoid paying taxes.
I’m not talking about not paying a little income tax… I’m talking about total tax evasion. I’m talking about a country where 10 million people should be paying taxes, but only 2.5 million do. And all of this is legal. The rich managed to come up with a plan which dispenses them from paying taxes. The New York Times mentioned that average – average! - worth (?) of Pakistani parliamentarians is $900,000. Nawaz Sharif, the Opposition leader, and a millionaire hasn’t, for his part, paid any income taxes in 2005, 2006 and 2007. “This system favours elitists, (a system by elitists for elitists) says Riyaz Hussein Naqvi, Pakistani a retired public servant who worked as a tax collector for 38 years. It is a distorted system in which the poor pays for the rich.”
What The Times did not mention but which you probably already know – I know that you read the international news in dailies with great interest – is that Pakistan already has nuclear arms. In fact, it owns countless nuclear missiles.
So, if I recap all this…
Pakistan is an oligarchy (a government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes) which exempts the rich from paying income tax. Pakistan has money to buy F-16’s. Pakistan has money to keep an atomic arsenal capable of destroying half the planet!
I am not that naïve after all… Pakistan has the means to help its own people.
Note from Pierre (the fellow who send this article around): If I remember well, on September 11th 2001, when the Twin Towers in New York were destroyed by terrorists, yes I do remember very well having seen live television coverage showing adults and children from Iran, Pakistan and other muslim countries, dancing in the streets and having a whale of a time because the United States had been touched right in the heart. They were elated because thousands of Americans were killed.
Well now that they’re in deep shit, they ask for our help!!! And what will they do to us in five years, in ten years?

Labour back to Union Power
So Ed Miliband is the new Labour Party so back to the days when the Unions rule the Labour Party, one good thing is it will keep Labour out of power for a decade at least.
The joke about the Labour conference they are telling this pretty insipid Coalition Government how to save the economy yet they are responsible for the mess we are in as for the Unions they are flexing their muscles ruining everyone holiday plans so their members can keep their freebies and threatening massive disruption if the government make any cuts. Yet where were they when British companies and their share holders were sacking British Workman and replacing them with cheap foreign labour? No where they could not be seen being non PC and being anti foreigner it was better for them to see British Subjects suffer.
The Unions could have done a lot of good stopping the evil side of Capitalism, here in Kent we have most farmers refusing to employ British Subjects and we have factories in Sittingbourne who are doing the same, they have the regular excuses we only deal with agency workers, British do not want the jobs they are to lazy, British want to much money and only want to work a 40 hour week yet the truth is they make a bigger profit with foreigner workers this is called greed, These companies to not even consider their fellow British Subjects, they are there to be trodden on and if need be left to live in squalor and hunger. Having your own business is not just about profit but is by helping yourself you help your fellow countryman.
Now we have an open door to benefit tourists: EU warns Britain it can't stop thousands more migrants claiming welfare handouts, if the Tories had honoured their pledges and got rid of this terrible Human Rights Act we would not be in this mess and this Coalition Government tell us they will prevent it happening, Pigs might Fly when will the British People stand up against this European Union Dictatorship we are honouring the people of the Battle of Britain for saving us from a European Dictator 70 years later we have one and have been invaded by people who are not wanted.
WHEN OH WHEN will another WINSTON CHURCHILL appear and get rid of these EU quislings

Positive discrimination
Positive discrimination in the work place is not only a disgrace and unfair but totally undemocratic
This has been my opinion for years I believe that people should be judged on their ability not on there sexual persuasion, sex or ethnic origin. Those who support this scheme continually suggest that these are very large minorities in the work place this may be the case with Women and maybe ethnic minorities but this definitely not the case with Homosexuals and I quote 23 Sep 2010 ... Figures from Office of National Statistics tell us that 1.5% of Britons say they are gay or bisexual much lower than the most commonly used estimate of 5% to 7%. No one in their right can call that a large minority so why are White Heterosexual Men treated so badly? What is wrong with being chosen on your ability?

Battle of Britain Bredgar Boy
Did any of you watch the programme on BBC about the Battle of Britain featuring the Mcgregor brothers well what you may not have known was the Wing Commander teaching him to fly Cliff Spinks lived in Bredgar and I believe went to Borden Grammar School, I did not know him but I worked with his father when I was 15 his dad Ron spoke about him often and if he were alive he would be a very proud man. The reason I write this is to make people realise that TV is not just for Celebrities, Footballers and people with little or know brains from Big Brother but every now and again real people appear who have done something practical in their lives and this case served his country all his adult life and his father was a Tractor Driver, Cliff shows if you want something bad enough you can get it

In Last weeks EGG Barry Pearson in a piece entitled “Get a Grip on the real Issues” totally misrepresented what I said in an article in your paper I never said I thought we should get rid of ½ of the Police, I am not going to repeat my letter just to say that he can read it again on my Blog martinclarke.blogspot.com. The ‘Stop the Rot’ report published by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary showed that last year, 3.5million incidents of anti-social behaviour were reported, this proved what I was saying that the Police are mismanaging their resources, can I also point out that for over 15 years I have been complaining through your letters page about cyclists on Foot Paths and the danger they impose, in your paper last week their was a report of an incident that proved my point , this was where a man and women on cycles kicked a girl because she was in his way on a pavement apart from being a Thug it shows cyclists on pavement are a danger, menace and rude but thankfully after a 15 year wait the Police will applying the law of the land by fining them if they are on the pavement, maybe the next thing is to check road worthiness of cycles and whether they have lights.
To finalise Barry Pearson should get to grips himself this country has massive debts mainly brought on by his Labour Government and we all must pay for the their mistakes and the European Union is an issue we pour Billions of pounds into this inefficient bureaucracy and very little back in return by withdrawing form the EU we could invest that money in correcting our own debt

No plans to Scrap NHS Direct Helpline
Sittingbourne and Sheppey MP, Gordon Henderson has received a number of calls from constituents worried by rumours that the Government plans to scrap the NHS Direct Helpine.
The speculation began when the Secretary of State of Health, Andrew Lansley, announced an introduction of a new telephone service for patients to access non-emergency NHS healthcare, using a three-digit number – 111.
Shadow ministers immediately seized on Lansley’s statement as proof that the NHS Direct Helpline was to be abolished, but this has been strongly denied by the Government.
Mr Henderson said,
“I would like to reassure local people there are no plans for the NHS Direct as an organisation to be closed down, however, it is the Government’s intention to eventually replace the current NHS Direct telephone number (0845 46 47), which is costly to patients dialling the number from landlines and mobiles phones, with the new 111 number.
“When detailed plans are made to roll out the service nationally, we expect NHS Direct and its staff to play a key role in taking the new service forward.”

Shadow ministers immediately seized on Lansley’s statement as proof that the NHS Direct Helpline was to be abolished, but this has been strongly denied by the Government.
Mr Henderson said,
“I would like to reassure local people there are no plans for the NHS Direct as an organisation to be closed down, however, it is the Government’s intention to eventually replace the current NHS Direct telephone number (0845 46 47), which is costly to patients dialling the number from landlines and mobiles phones, with the new 111 number.
“When detailed plans are made to roll out the service nationally, we expect NHS Direct and its staff to play a key role in taking the new service forward.”

The Pope, Peter Tatchell and Me
Popes Visit
As someone who was brought up as a Roman Catholic I obviously have in interest in the Popes Visit not particularly where he goes but what is says and what other people say about him. I have to admit I stopped going to Mass when I was about 19 years of age, not through any revolt against the Church I just preferred to go to the Cinema with my mates and my girlfriend now my wife. So eventually got out of the habit of being a Church goer plus back in the 1960’s the Mass was still in Latin, yet I never really lost the faith, that became apparent to me when my Mum was dying some 6 years when I was panicking because no one had called her priest to give her the last rites. Both my parents were Catholic my mother was religious, my father went along with my mother when she insisted my brother and myself went to Mass plus all the Holy Days of Obligation, he detested the church. His father a 6ft 2ins 18 stone Irishman would insist on him and his sisters attending Mass twice every Sunday and would take the belt to them if they were late, funny enough he never spoke of this it was Aunts and other people who told me. What he did tell me was that his school life was horrific being beaten by Nuns and the Teacher, I heard many a story from my Aunts how when one particularly vicious Women Teacher was beating my father his two sisters jumped on her back to stop her, so when my mother suggested sending us to a RC School my father put his foot down and said NO. Thank God things have changed since then.
The Popes visit was marred by the Sexually abuse scandals by Priests, a terrible thing for the those who had been abused, I remember talking to my mother about how can a Priest be a member of the IRA and why doesn’t the Church throw them out she would always reply “They are wicked Human Beings not the Church” very true but what also was wicked was the Churches idea over covering up these hideous crimes and letting the guilty go unpunished. This happened on a local level I mentioned my father beatings at school by a Miss Lodge the local Catholics new about this but nothing was done, when I was about 14 a priest came to our door and asked my father for a donation to Miss Lodge who had just died my father replied “ I would not give the dirt of my shoes for that evil vicious cow” then slammed the door in the priest face. This caused uproar with my mother who shouted “Cannot do that to a priest” he replied “ I can and I have and tell them lot not to come round here again” Yet he still wanted a Catholic funeral, so even he knew the difference between Man and Church.
My point is that cover up were not unusual in the Church nor come to that any institution but what I find really nauseating is that so called celebrities, left wing activist are using the abuse of those people as a stick to beat the Catholic religion and promote their own agenda people like Peter Tatchell the leader of the Pink mafia, Stephen Friar the Homosexual Actor who is promoting his book and Sally Berkow wife of the speaker who believes being Bisexual is normal and a group who should have special rights, I feel they are as disgusting as the paedophiles priest because they are revelling and benefiting form peoples misery.
The Pope had many good things to say especially about preserving Christian Festivals, he went on condemn our obsession with being hedonistic and let’s look at his attitude on Sex, he preaches sex should be within marriage an old fashioned idea and I expect all you youngsters and older ones who can not maintain a relationship laughing their heads off. Yet if you only have one partner for life and remain loyal there is little or no chance of catching a Sexual disease, Children would in most cases be brought into this world because they are wanted (This is not always the case suggesting a good argument for contraception in marriage) not born as a by product of some passing sexual encounter, Homosexual can not marry so a lot of Homosexual diseases would decrease, society as whole would benefit because there would be less single parents needing state handouts etc.
Yet our left wing friends, our atheist friends and our secular friends do not want this they believe the new religion should be Hedonism (Pleasure seeking, high living, intemperance, self indulgence, profligacy, self satisfaction, self gratification, self denial all word s meaning Hedonism) and since the 1960’s this has been their agenda a small group of fanatics who now have become the heads of our Government, Schools, Town halls etc and what have they succeeded in doing:
1) Sex has become a pastime like going out for beer something you enjoy doing when ever you like and with who ever you like.
2) Drugs are part of the norm with this group
3) Sexual disease is just an occupational hazard
4) There is no such things as a perverted sexual act every taste must be gloried and each of these must be classified and given separate opportunities like positive discrimination in jobs.
This has now given us Sexual Disease at its highest ever recorded levels which has to be paid for by us taxpayers not only the treatment but the research as well, imagine how much money could be saved and redirected to illness which is not self inflicted. The youngest teenage pregnancies record in the free world and this in spite of massive publicity of contraception, which is now being offered to girls as young as 12 without parental consent. This is costing the taxpayer millions in maintaining what used be called Bastards (children born out of wedlock) it is also costing the environment because no longer do we have one house for a child in most cases two houses are required one for the mother and one for the father. Catholic adoption agencies being force to close because they will not entertain the Social Experiment of Homosexuals adopting children. All surveys have found that the best environment to bring up a child is in a Married family this is followed by a Man and women in a long time relationships. Are estates are filled with one parent families with feral kids who real family becomes the gang they are in. This may not be the case all the time some single parents do a good job in bringing up their children but they are a very small minority. All this started because a group of academics and celebrities wanted the justification to have sex with anything that walked or slithered across the ground male, female or animal.
So there you have it the old religions which have their faults or the new religion of Hedonism. I know which one I will stick with.

Tatchell tells a queer story
I read an article today where the Pope is to perform a ceremony of beatification on Cardinal Newman and that odious Gay Mafia Leader Peter Tatchell had to get his say, in that Cardinal Newman was Homosexual where is his proof he is trying to convince people that every famous man through history was queer. Him along with the Labour government were responsible for banning Catholics from running adoption agencies because they did not agree with Homosexuals adopting children, the majority of people in the UK feel the same, vulnerable children should not be put in to the care with those who are in an unnatural relationship.

Gypsy v Traveller
In this weeks local paper MP Gordon Henderson complained that so called travellers should not have preferential treatment with planning regulations and he is totally right yet my main problem is with the word traveller? Surely the word means to travel so why do they want a permanent base? The last Labour government made the ridiculous assumption that a Traveller was a Gypsy and should be treated as an ethnic minority, one could argue that a true Romany Gypsy is ethnically different to the rest of English population as they can trace their linage back hundreds of years but these so called Travellers need none of that all they need is a caravan and no permanent abode to claim special treatment.
My son’s God Father is a proper Romany Gypsy plus an ex international Judo Player he no longer takes to the road he lives in a very nice house in Bexley his daughter is a lawyer and his son is a Doctor putting paid to the myth that all Gypsies are thick but his parents were of old stock. They would travel around Kent in their caravan during fruit picking and harvest time taking on work and then return to their permanent home in Bexley for the winter. That has all stopped because all our Farmers in Kent will no longer employ them or local women to do these jobs; they now have thousands of Easter Europeans workers so much for loyalty to the indigenous population.
Can I make a suggestion if these so called travellers want to build a mobile home park let them go through the relevant planning and then give up their rights to classified as a special group, the rest well as someone who own caravan let them do what I do. When I use my caravan I travels to various campsite etc where I pitch my caravan most site have adequate washing and toilet facilities and after a period move on to another site. I expect some entrepreneur could build a lot of extra caravan sites in the UK for them to travel to, as with most sites a maximum stay of 3 weeks would only be allowed the owner would take a fee part of which would go to the local council to help pay Council Tax. These travellers would not get any benefits unless they had paid NI and Income tax, what they would get would be food vouchers and sufficient fuel to get them from site to site, any collection of scrap would be registered with the owner of the camp who would inform the local authorities to see if they had the correct license and there earning could be taxed in fact you could go one step further every one selling scrap to a scrap yard would have to prove they are paying tax otherwise 25% could be deducted at source and paid direct to the revenue. A school hut could be on sight with a resident teacher and a local Doctor could be brought in to visit the site once a week this could all be included in the pitch hire.
Once a network of these sites were built there would be no need for illegal pitching someone illegally parked would have 2 days to move on otherwise they would have their caravan confiscated These so called Travellers are no more then hedge bumpers and give real Gypsies a bad name .

A Policeman replies
A Policeman sent me the following a response to my article
I totally agree with you. I paid 11% of my wages for 34 years of my service towards my pension. My police pension does not provide me with sufficient money to retire completely, I have to work, so why not do what I have been trained to do and at a much lower wage than a police officer. I can't see a problem I actually save the police £10,000 a year.

Police Pension
I recently wrote a letter about the Police in that article I suggested that it would not be a good idea to let the Chief Constables be responsible for their own cost cutting as the first one to be cut would be the ordinary PC, if the papers are to be believed that is exactly what is happening I Told you so.
What annoyed me was the Sun condemning retiring Police Officers calling them greedy because they had a good pension and then went back to the Police Force oops sorry Police Service as Civilian workers. Well the Sun want to check their facts because the Police Pension is paid for by the individual Policeman he has a considerable amount taken out of his pay packet, a Copper on the beat etc reach his peak at 50 and when he entered the Police Force he signed up knowing that he could retire at 50. It makes good business sense to take ex policeman on in a civilian role they know the job and do not need top be retrained.

Always a pleasure to read your emails. I just read the blog on how the English have copied how the American's take advantage of the older generation. Could never understand how they help those who don't work and save, but take away from those that do. Where is the incentive to achieve. That would be like letting a slacker be given a black belt in judo and taking away a black belt from a senior who happens to have a bad tournament. Government never makes sense. Politicians gain power by giving away programs and benefits to those who don't want to work and earn it. They are kept in power as long as they are allowed to give away benefits. They take from the hard workers to have the benefits. The hard workers are busy working and don't realize what is being given away. The politician stays in office by giving more and more away... Until there is no more for those who are willing to work for it.. Then they have nothing. Government will eventually fail. Great writing. Yes, they do steal houses, plus..

Our Local MP is campaigning for Free Rail Travel for pensioners I am not to sure all pensioners should get this and believe it should be based on need but the one thing I am pleased about is that Gordon is highlighting the plight of pensioners.
Recently a friend of mines Aunt died in her nineties a good innings Yes for her and the state. Why the state well let me explain:
My friend and his sister were heirs to his aunts estate, I say estate it was some savings and a small house, because she had this when she was put into care they had sell her house and all her goods to pay for her upkeep in the Care home, yet this women had paid her taxes and her National Insurance all her life a National Insurance scheme that was meant to protect her all her life. If my friend Aunt had not saved and not had the audacity to own her own house she would have been looked after at the expense of the National Insurance Scheme, you will notice I did not use the word Taxpayer because the two should be different. National Insurance is paid separately from your tax and is an Insurance Scheme which is run by the government rather then a private company, so when you join the scheme you are offered a scheduled policy which if this is were a private company they have to abide by so why is the Government allowed to change the boundaries?
I say she would have got the service free but I am told that once the money runs out your siblings/relatives have to contribute to the care that could mean Grandchildren. There were ways round this I.e., you good gift a property and as long as you live 7 years there would no comeback
Now these are not Multi Millionaires they are just people her own their house and maybe have a small business who have paid Tax and NI all their lives why should they have to pay again when the lazy, frivolous and feckless pay nothing yet again.
So the Government gain because they do not have to pay out and the owner of the Care homes gain because they get a mass of money, yet this latest government tells us we should save more and be more independent WHAT FOR?

British Justice a Joke
My wife recently had to go to court over a bump at the traffic light in her car. She had a bump with another care which according to her there was no damage. The other driver blamed her for the bump and tried to claim nearly a £1000, my wife could have taken the easy route and agreed she was in the wrong but she felt that the other driving was abusing the system.
The court was heard round a table with a female Judge my wife’s claim was that the other driver rolled back while stopped at the Traffic lights the other driver claimed the opposite say she had an automatic and could not run back.
The case was read out and before both parties could say their piece the Judge commented that she had an automatic and it could not run back I said yes it can if it is in neutral, which I was chastised by the Judge for speaking as I was just a spectator.
You can guess the outcome my wife lost her case but my question was the Judge Neutral? Her opening statement told us that she had a preconceived notion of what had happen, more importantly the notion was not based on fact.
The case was basically won because the women said she was in drive and could not run backwards, this is true if she was in drive but that was her word only, the Judge never ever considered the following
1) The driver was lying
2) Is it safe to stop at the traffic lights while in drive
3) Is normal practice to be stationary and leave it drive? I would consider this dangerous
4) As the lights changed could she not have stalled the car? To restart you have to apply the handbrake, select neutral and start the ignition
5) Maybe if this happened the driver could have forgot to apply the handbrake and rolled back
6) Lastly the defence stated that an automatic can not roll freely if that is the case why have a handbrake?
It did not cost my wife anything only time and worry but we both agreed it was an experience we would not have missed. It has confirmed our belief that the concept of Justice in the word British Justice is a contradiction and something we have question over the Labour years and now we have to faith in at all.
Would we repeat the exercise NO in future In future we will be the three monkey’s See nothing, hear nothing and say nothing, well nearly all three the last one will be impossible for me, after seeing British Justice in action you can understand why the public do not want to get involved. And I'm supposed to give a shit that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll give a shit about the Koran when the nuts in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan .
I'll give a shit when these nuts tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll give a shit when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of rats disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

Catholics and homosexual adoption
Catholic Care loses to Homosexuals
Roman Catholic ideology believe practising Homosexual acts is a sin but like most Christians they will forgive if they repent, that does not mean you stop being Homosexual you just stop practising Homosexual acts. No if you can not deal with or do not agree with it leave the Catholic Church.
Why I mention this is Catholic Care is an Adoption Agency that abides by the doctrine of the Catholic Church so they will not let Homosexuals adopt children one would have thought in a free country you would allowed to practise what you preach NO yet again the state steps in to stop freedom. Militant Homosexuals have used the Human Rights Act to enforce them, why should they do that when there are plenty of other agencies who will do this? Simple the very small homosexual community what to have inordinate power given to them and convince all of us their relationships are normal, most of us accept Homosexuals but most like me find the homosexual act abhorrent, most of us believe marriage should be between Man or Women. Yet we accept that a Civil Partnership is needed to protect a couple for legal reasons but why is a Civil Partnership just restricted to Homosexual and Lesbians?
It is not normal for two men to have children Nature and God makes reproduction of offspring the mating of Male and Female of the species. Also all surveys and enquiries have found that the best way to bring up children is in a Traditional Marriage, followed by a long term stable relationship between a man and women, the most difficult way to bring up a child is with a single parent so why with all this knowledge should we put children into this Homosexual experiment. Yes experiment because that what it is I dread to think what sate of mind the children will be in when they reach 16 but then again who cares as long as the militant Homosexuals get their way.
Well done the Catholic Church for sticking to their beliefs maybe the Church of England could learn that lesson to

Police time for change

Last week in the EKG an article appeared titled “Policing changes Foolish” this is where Ann Barnes Chairman Kent Police Authority rejected the proposed changes to Policing by the present Government particular FBI Type National Crime Agency and elected Police Commissioner. Firstly surely it makes sense to have one overall body for the UK it works in the USA and they are bigger country then us and as some who suggested years ago having an elected Sheriff it is an obvious that we need elected Chief Constables. People like Ann Barnes prefer the status quo because they like their authority as do the Chief Constables.
Yet when it was reported recently that there is a “Caution Culture in the UK “ because Police are just trying to keep their arrest figures up for the benefit of impressing the Government and the people that they have a grip on crime which they do not have. 80% of the population believe that the system respects the rights of the accused rather then the victim. Senior Officers are more interested in promoting their own future and abiding by the Political Correct liberal softness.
The Police and the Judicial System are there to protect the people of this country something they are failing to do, with the country in such financial mess cuts have to be made by the Police but I hope the government does not allow each individual Police Chief Constable the responsibility of applying the cuts because they will cut the PC’s and PSO’s etc, the cuts should come from the top.
Here are a few ideas to save money cut ranks such Chief Inspector, Chief Superintendent, Assistant Chief Constable this was done many years ago and it was successful, cut chauffer driven cars for Senior Officers why can not a Chief Constable drive himself? Cut things that are not policing last year Kent Count Constabulary organised “Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual week “what has someone’s sexuality got to do with Police Work, stop all diversity courses recently on Sheppey officers had to go a two day diversity course instead of doing Policing, is their need for Police Magazine being sent to every household in Kent? Why not employ officers on their ability rather then their sex, sexual orientation or ethnicity, the cry from these people is the Police needs to represent society RUBBISH the Police are there to do a Job of work protecting the public and upholding the Law; this positive discrimination has led to a drop in the quality of Police Officers.
Here is a way to make money get Police vehicles to carry advertisement (monitored) get an outside organisation to print a Police Magazine which can be self financing by way of advertising, share Central Offices with the other emergency services.

Last week in the EKG an article appeared titled “Policing changes Foolish” this is where Ann Barnes Chairman Kent Police Authority rejected the proposed changes to Policing by the present Government particular FBI Type National Crime Agency and elected Police Commissioner. Firstly surely it makes sense to have one overall body for the UK it works in the USA and they are bigger country then us and as some who suggested years ago having an elected Sheriff it is an obvious that we need elected Chief Constables. People like Ann Barnes prefer the status quo because they like their authority as do the Chief Constables.
Yet when it was reported recently that there is a “Caution Culture in the UK “ because Police are just trying to keep their arrest figures up for the benefit of impressing the Government and the people that they have a grip on crime which they do not have. 80% of the population believe that the system respects the rights of the accused rather then the victim. Senior Officers are more interested in promoting their own future and abiding by the Political Correct liberal softness.
The Police and the Judicial System are there to protect the people of this country something they are failing to do, with the country in such financial mess cuts have to be made by the Police but I hope the government does not allow each individual Police Chief Constable the responsibility of applying the cuts because they will cut the PC’s and PSO’s etc, the cuts should come from the top.
Here are a few ideas to save money cut ranks such Chief Inspector, Chief Superintendent, Assistant Chief Constable this was done many years ago and it was successful, cut chauffer driven cars for Senior Officers why can not a Chief Constable drive himself? Cut things that are not policing last year Kent Count Constabulary organised “Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual week “what has someone’s sexuality got to do with Police Work, stop all diversity courses recently on Sheppey officers had to go a two day diversity course instead of doing Policing, is their need for Police Magazine being sent to every household in Kent? Why not employ officers on their ability rather then their sex, sexual orientation or ethnicity, the cry from these people is the Police needs to represent society RUBBISH the Police are there to do a Job of work protecting the public and upholding the Law; this positive discrimination has led to a drop in the quality of Police Officers.
Here is a way to make money get Police vehicles to carry advertisement (monitored) get an outside organisation to print a Police Magazine which can be self financing by way of advertising, share Central Offices with the other emergency services.

Englishman are Lazy?
The Coalition Government have vowed to get Dole cheats back working and I totally agree with them, why should us tax payers pay for the lazy and feckless BUT there is a problem where do the Jobs come from? We have unemployment on the increase amongst British Subjects yet work for foreign workers and immigrants are on the increase. Our new Government have told us there will be a new beginning BRITISH JOBS FOR BRITISH WORKERS that what we were told and all the time they new they could not uphold this ideal Why?
1) EU Nationals are allowed to work here by Law something the last Government signed up for
2) Greedy Share holders and Company Directors and farmers are only interested in profit and do not care for their own Countryman
3) The Conservative Majority ii this government is being dominated by Libdem policies which exasperates the problem
4) Can I give a few example in the Swale area nearly all Fruit pickers are Foreign with one farmer in Faversham employing over 700 I would suggest there could be a couple of thousand in the area, many factories in the area employ foreign labour i.e. I am told 20% of the new Morrison’s Depot are Foreign Labour. I recently spoke to a chap who works for a major building company in London and is in charge of 700 men working on building sites and not one is English!
So why not employ the English first the normal excuse comes out “The English are lazy and have no pride in there work, will not work the hours etc” most of the Foreign workforce and Immigrant Labour will work 6 days a week 12 hours a day but then most of them do not have a family here and are here to work and earn as much money to send back to their own country, most do not stay here long enough to pay Tax or National Insurance and will live together sharing a house or caravan very admirable you may say but how can English live and work like that. He wants to be part of his family, he wants to see his children, he wants to have free time to enjoy and he will be paying mortgage or living in a house for one family, we are not living in the middle ages anymore “YOU WORK TO LIVE, NOT LIVE TO WORK” the latter was what was expected 200 years ago. As for pride in their work why have English craftsman been asked for all over the World, there is good and bad in all nationalities but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
When I was growing up all we heard from the Unions was the need for a 40 hour week which I agreed with what’s happened to that? As for the Unions they are more interested in Politics and feathering their own nest why are there no Demos outside where all these places which employ mainly foreign labour that White Elephant the Olympic Games no shouting Scab or is that against the Human Rights.
One other reason given to me by the Construction industry is that we do not have enough Tradesman and you have to agree with them Governments over the last 20 years have concentrated on Academic Qualification getting as may youngsters into University and forgetting about the 60%, let bring back the old fashioned apprenticeship. All the time we have this coalition government nothing will happen with immigration, the human rights act and unemployment for the people who live in GB. How long before we have riots in the streets attacks on Immigrants who knows maybe never because I expect this Government will just keep on paying English to stay at home.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.
5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.
6) The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere..' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army.. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

Just wanted to say thank you.
As we progress into the year 2010, I want to thank you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery.
I no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, or have the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel.
I can't use the remote in a hotel room because I don't know what the last person was doing while flipping through the adult movie channels.
I can't sit down on the hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed.
I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one's nose.
Eating a little snack sends me on a guilt trip because I can only imagine how many gallons of Trans fats I have consumed over the years.
I can't touch any woman's purse for fear she has placed it on the floor of a public bathroom.
I MUST SEND MY SPECIAL THANKS to whoever sent me the one about rat poop in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.
ALSO, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason
I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die for the 1,387,258th time.
I no longer have any money, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.
I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's Novena has granted my every wish.
I can't eat at KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes, feet or feathers.
I can't use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.
THANKS TO YOU I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within 5 minutes.
BECAUSE OF YOUR CONCERN, I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
I no longer buy gas without taking someone along to watch the car so a serial killer doesn't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up.
I no longer drink Pepsi or Fanta since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put 'Under God' on their cans.
I no longer use Cling Wrap in the microwave because it causes seven different types of cancer.
AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW I can't boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face. Disfiguring me for life.
I no longer go to the movies because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS when I sit down.
I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.
I no longer receive packages from UPS or Fed Ex since they are actually Al Qaeda agents in disguise.
And I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore , and Uzbekistan .
I no longer buy cookies from Neiman-Marcus since I now have their recipe.
THANKS TO YOU I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big black snake could be lurking under the seat and cause me instant death when it bites my butt.
AND THANKS TO YOUR GREAT ADVICE I can't ever pick up a .25 cent coin dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting to grab me as I bend over.

I can't do any gardening because I'm afraid I'll get bitten by the Violin Spider and my hand will fall off.

Let's put the pensioners in jail and the criminals in a nursing home. This way the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them. A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counseling, pool and education.
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free, on request.
Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.
Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.
The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised.
Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week.
Live in a tiny room and pay £900.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out.
Justice for all we say.

£20.8 million a day to EU

Every day Britain pays £20.8 million more to the EU than we receive back in grants and subsidies.
That's £7.6 billion being given to the EU this year alone, at a time when public services are being cut and taxes increased in order to pay off Britain's debts.
In the recent Budget, our new government announced that VAT will rise sharply to 20% from January 2011 and that almost all government departments face spending cuts of up to 40%. But there was no mention of cuts to the billions we are giving to the EU.
This is even more inexplicable given that auditors continue to question the "legality and regularity" of large areas of the EU's accounts and regular reports of waste and fraud (see below).
It is completely unacceptable for the EU to be exempt from cuts, able to continue to enjoy lavish, pre-crisis levels of funding while everyone else across Europe tightens their belts.
That's why the DM and the TaxPayers' Alliance have teamed up to launch this new campaign, demanding that, if public services face severe cuts, its only fair that the billions we hand over to the EU should be cut too.
The campaign was launched in Westminster with a stunt for the media. Activists dressed as
Chancellor George Osborne and Treasury chief secretary Danny Alexander posed with a giant cheque at the gates to Downing Street and outside the Treasury (right) and then tried to pay it in at the European Commission's London office (see the
video here).
In the first initiative, hundreds of thousands of cheque style leaflets have been produced for nationwide distribution by DM and TPA activists. Further local and national events, as well as additional campaign materials, will follow.
We're asking supporters to sign the letter on the back of the leaflet and return it to us, so that large numbers can be presented to
10 Downing Street. MPs will also be informed how many of their constituents support cuts to spending on the EU being prioritised over tax rises or cuts to public services.
The letter to Prime Minister David Cameron on the back of the leaflet reads:
Dear Prime Minister,
In 2005 Tony Blair agreed to increase the amount Britain contributes to the EU budget by 60% - despite opposition from both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats (Hansard, 19 Nov 2007).
As a result, we are due to pay the EU the huge sum of £7.6 billion this year alone (March 2010 Budget, page 204) - even taking into account the EU grants and subsidies that we receive back.
That’s £20.8 million every day.
In a recent speech you said that our national debt is "the most urgent issue facing Britain today" and all political parties agree on the need for large cuts in public spending.
If public services face severe cuts, it is only fair that the billions we hand over to the EU should also be cut.
Cutting wasteful spending on the EU would make a big contribution to reducing our deficit and solving the national debt crisis. I write to express my support for the TaxPayers' Alliance's and Democracy Movement's demand that the Chancellor, George Osborne, should refuse to sign more cheques like the one shown overleaf, and instead cut the billions Britain is giving to the EU.

50p on Credit Card
I recently travelled to Scotland whilst in the service area in Peterborough I queued up for a newspaper there was quite a delay as someone was paying by Credit Card as this foreign lady left I noticed all she had was a 50p pack of sweets which she paid for by Credit Card! This amazed me and I told this to my wife and she said in shops like the Aldi foreign workers would often pay for very small items by credit card, I would have thought the shops put a fee on people using a card on small amounts so it just doesn’t make sense.
I related this story to a friend of mine who works on a very big Farm in the Faversham area, he could not understand why this is the case because most of the immigrant labour are on good money especially this time of year, he explains that his farm is practically all fruit and the Summer is when all the immigrant pickers are on the farm. Most are on peace work earning £100 to £150 a day, some doing a seven day week the remainder are on basic wage and the fact they only pay £30 per week accommodations and are not here long enough to pay tax they are well of, I went on to say how many were working he replied in access of 500, I the asked the question how many were English his reply was NONE as his employer will not employer any British people.
So we have 500 plus jobs in Faversham being taken away from British Workers and no matter what the Coalition Government say they can not do a thing about it as the workers are all EU citizens and entitled to work here. Once again the European Union over rides the interest of the British People but then what do they care, come to that what do Farmers care as long as they get their massive profits and keep their snouts in the trough

Will the press print this Article?
This has been circulating the Internet for sometime now I sent a copy to our local newspapers do you think they will print it? NO. The one big thing about the Internet is that ordinary people can have their say, no longer are they told by the press, media and politicians what they should think
Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor of a British national newspaper. Ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?.
Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!
Written by a housewife, to her daily newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July 2002, and in New York Sept 112001 and have continually threatened to do so since?
Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in London, and in downtown Manhattan , and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11 and 7/7.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:
I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:
I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my taxes - is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:
I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, believe me!! you guessed it ......
I don't care!!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behaviour!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country! And may I add:
'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. Our soldiers don't have that problem.'
I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward all this.

1. Jesus Christ
2. The British Soldier.
3. The Canadian Soldier.
4. The US Soldier, and
5. The Australian Soldier

Government ignores us
It seems our New coalition Government is doing just what the Labour done ignoring Public Opinion and treating the Electorate as idiots two things I especially
1) 85% of the Public want the banning of the Burka and what do we get from Government ministers “it is Un British to make this illegal” what is Un British is ignoring the will of the people.
2) The same percentage is for the removal of the European Hum Rights Legislation from our Law. This is the legislation that allows killers and murdering terrorists to go free and give rights to Sobham Murderer to sue the government at our expense. This was a promise of the Conservatives to rid us of this unjust act but as a milk sop to the LibDems it was dropped. Why is it that LibDems are most interested in the rights of the criminal then they are the rights of the victim and law abiding citizen

Judy Rudd an amateur genealogy researcher in southern Queensland’s, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s great-great uncle, Remus Rudd, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Melbourne in 1889. Both Judy and Kevin Rudd share this common ancestor.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows at the Melbourne Gaol:
On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Rudd horse thief, sent to Melbourne Gaol 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Melbourne-Geelong train six times. Caught by Victoria Police Force, convicted and hanged in 1889.'
So Judy recently e-mailed Prime Minister Rudd for information about their great-great uncle. Remus Rudd:
Believe it or not, Kevin Rudd's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
"Remus Rudd was famous in Victoria during the mid to late 1800s . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Melbourne-Geelong Railroad.
Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad.
In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the Victoria Police Force. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the passenger lounge in the Bozeman , Montana airport, while waiting for their respective flights.
One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer, another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Montana State University from theMiddle East.
Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.
The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table, tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face, and lights a cigarette. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.
Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, 'At one time here, my people were many but sadly, now we are few.'
The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, 'Once my people were few,' he sneers, 'and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?'
The cowboy removes his cigarette from his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl . . .
'I reckon that's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, But I do believe it's a-comin'.'
