Go Gordon Go
Read This letter
This Guy is a man after my own heart
The Editor
East Kent Gazette/Sheppey Gazette (via email)
Dear Madam
In his letter in this week’s Gazette Barry Pearson asks me to let him know what my policies are. As I have said before I will spell out fully my policies when Gordon Brown finally summons up the courage to call a General Election.
Meanwhile I am more than happy to set out the type of things in which I believe, for instance:
· I believe that pensioners deserve a higher basic state pension, which is why I support the linking of pensions to wage inflation, rather than prices.
· I want to ensure that local people have access to a NHS dentist.
· I will work closely with our local businesses to help protect jobs.
· I will campaign for a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.
· I support our local grammar schools, but believe that we are lucky enough to have some of the best non-selective secondary schools in the county.
· I believe that planning laws should be reviewed to ensure that settled and travelling communities are treated in exactly the same way.
· I would like to see a referendum held on Britain’s continued membership of the EU.
· I will campaign for controlled immigration and better border controls.
· I want to see a reduction in the amount of political correctness that bedevils our society.
Mr Pearson boasts that Labour’s policies include free bus passes for the elderly, free TV licences for the over-75’s and the minimum wage. Since these are all policies that David Cameron has promised to retain, it doesn’t seem that Labour is putting forward much of an election manifesto!
Yours sincerely
Gordon Henderson

Swiss Aren't the Intolerant Ones
I copied this article from The Mail on Sunday and totally agree with Peter Hitchins. Islam is not just a religion it is a life style with its own set of Laws which is totally different from the English Way if there is to be a change I at least should have a say in it. Living in harmony with Islam would be a lot easier if the Government done their job and arrested and imprisoned those who demonstrate advocating the death of NON Muslims
Swiss aren’t the intolerant ones
Nobody ever asked us if we wanted a country full of big mosques, asserting Islam’s confidence in our cities. So that is what we have. But they asked the Swiss and they said ‘no thank you’. Is this bigotry? I don’t think so.
Where Islam is in power, it restricts the building and repairing of Christian churches, the ringing of bells and the holding of processions. Christians are second-class citizens. Western liberal prattle about Islamic ‘tolerance’ is based on ignorance.
The Muslim threat to this country does not come from a few swivel-eyed, blowhard preachers. It comes from our own willingness to drive Christianity out of schools, government and broadcasting, and our feeble refusal to require migrants and their descendants to respect and accept our culture and faith.
We could be well on the way to becoming a Muslim country by the end of this century. The noisy Left-wing atheists will miss the Church of England, once it is replaced by the Mosque of England.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1233489/PETER-HITCHENS-If-The-Committee-Unintended-Consequences-able-grill-Blair.html#ixzz0YtfVQdXn

EU air pollution fines could mean council tax rise
The Telegraph reports that strict EU air pollution standards mean that the UK could be fined £300 million in the next 18 months. The Local Government Association said the fine would add £15 to the average annual council tax bill.
