Yes I did watch it

Well I did watch the Olympic Opening something I swore I would not do. So what happened I was in my caravan watching a repeat of Vera during the interval I switched over to BBC and was completely mesmerised by the whole pageant, sat watching till the end of the display. No one can say it was not well produced. The rising of the Chimney stacks what impressed me most and the James Bond sketch with her Majesty showed what a marvellous monarch she is and she he in touch with her subject. The Tory MP who said it took a very left wing look at the UK was right but then that should have been expected it was started under a Labour Government and the Producer Mr Doyle is known for his left wing views
Couple of things I did not understand was the NHS bit? Abide with me being sung to some weird dancing montage, the hymn I understood but was the dance all about?  Why did they miss out Status Quo they have sold more records then nearly everyone? Why do they try changing history by putting Black people in parts of UK history when there was none, most Black people came over on the Windrush in the 1950’s which was portrayed and they came an integral part of society, so why suggest they were owners and bosses during the Industrial revolution. Why was not more shown of our Empire and how we ruled great deal of the World? Why did not Maggie Thatcher apper she was one of those who see the fall of Communism? Why Macca surely Chas and Dave would have been more appropriate?
I expect everyone on hindsight will have their own views but I have to agree it was a spectacular event and was quintessentially English, I still convinced it will cost the British Taxpayer a lot of money with a few big companies and a few individuals becoming extremely rich. As for its legacy of getting people involved in sport? The jury is still out

1948 Olympics

For some reason or other I can not get into the Olympic Mood and looking round Sittingbourne the same can be said about the town maybe because the Olympic Torch not coming up the Oldest Road in GB, Watling Street which passes through the Town did not help. As a failed Olympian, I was a reserve for GB Judo in 1980 I would have thought I would have been buoyant with the Greatest Sports Spectacle in the World coming to GB.

Then I saw the film on BBC Wednesday about the two scullers (it seems rowers only use one oar) in the London 1948 Olympics, this was a great film and empathised what the Olympics was truly about. Here was a time 3 years after a World War where the country had no money and rationing was still enforced yet we Brits still produced an Olympic Games. There was no extra food, no training expenses and no massive Olympic Village. One of the competitors rode his bicycle home every night and all competitors had to find their own kit. This didn’t mean going out and buying it but getting your Mum or Wife to make it for you; even the Medal presentation was done on the riverbank. These Olympians were true Amateur whose only ambition was to win Gold they had a couple of months of fame but soon drifted into obscurity but these were True Olympians

Of course as time passes things change and because several countries were cheating when it came to having amateur competitors eventually the Olympics became Open to the Professional World, GB never succumbed to cheating our Athletes in those days may not have won medals but they were true amateurs competing against professionals.

Today the Olympics are about making money, political prestige, and corporate sponsorship. Professional Athletes, paid and kept by their sports association, honed to perfection to entertain the World Audiences, Athletes who are treated like Movie Stars and who’s eyes are on their future glory after the Olympics.

I wonder if something has been lost from 1948 till 2012, when I was training for the Olympics all I could think about was Moscow 1980, what money I did earn had to be supplemented by wife going to work did I regret it NO. It must be something to stand on the Olympic Podium with a Gold medal around your neck seeing the Union Flag fluttering in the wind. Hopefully we will see that may times in London over the next few weeks

Cameron to Become GOD

Cameron is to make himself a GOD

I'll legalise gay marriage by 2015, vows Cameron: PM warns opponents from the Church 'not to lock people out'

Once again this very inadequate Prime Minister brings up the question of Same Sex Marriage as if there is nothing better to talk about. As most of you know I am against this, as I believe that and Bisexual behaviour is a perversion and excuse to get involved in perverse sexual activity with the consent of society. Yet I am pragmatic and realise that the Political Elite have decided that they want Gay Marriage no matter what the electorate want, for we no longer have true democracy in this country. We vote every now and again, we select our representative who then goes on to do what ever they want for 5 years.
Now a government can make a Civil Marriage a Legal Right but how can any man or Government usurp the will of GOD?   What right does a Government who most probably do not have any religious beliefs, tell us, who do have religious beliefs, how we should worship or what we think? DAVID CAMERON is becoming head of the thought Police! He make a modern day Inquisition where clergyman. Priests will be put in Prison for their belief they will become modern day Martyrs.
Certain fringe religions and I use the word fringe as they are normally born of some cult figure,  already allow same sex marriage if that is their belief so is it but to impose their beliefs on others is wrong.

Below are couple of quotes I got from readers

Yes Cameron, there are people with deeply held Christian views that are gay. The ones that I know have chosen a life of celibacy and are opposed to gay marriage. This is because their deeply held Christian views are rooted in what scriptures say!

This is starting to get scary. The economy is down the toilet, immigration is out of control, the Euro is in meltdown. Our PM thinks the most important thing to tackle is GAY MARRIAGE?????? Heaven help us!!!!!

I am convinced this Government is no better then Labour who got us into this mess as for allowing the LIBDEMS, who represent a small minority, have so much power has proved the downfall of this government. The only plus side is that I voted for Gordon Henderson and got a local MP who knows the area some much different form the last Labour MP. If the Conservatives do not get rid of Cameron the government will be Lib/Labour i.e. The same again

Cash in Hand is bad for the Country

Paying a cleaner in cash 'is morally wrong': Minister says families who settle bills cash-in-hand are as bad as tax avoiders

We all know not paying VAT is wrong but why is it Mr. & Mrs. Ordinary are always the ones being attacked by this and any Government. Some one who has some small jobs done in there house for say £1000 then has to pay the Government a further £200 in VAT. Not that I am suggesting avoiding VAT because that is really an evil thing to do and can see the collapse of the economy Bla, Bla. Yet the same Government is wasting millions, the speaker of the house had a shower screen put in for £1.5 thousand, it was reported that Nick Clegg spent a £million on advisors, what about the billions spent on Foreign aid to countries like India who have their own space programme, what about MP’s corruption, greedy bankers who do not even get prosecuted, there is one rule for the rich and famous and one for us peasants. Mr. & Mrs. Ordinary saving of £200 will most probably go to buying something else like FOOD or paying the mortgage.

The Conservative are returning to a pre war party of Millionaires and toffs, the problem is the alternative Labour and LibDems are exactly the same. Let return to a Grocers Daughter or even a Grammar School boy running the country, some one who understands Mr. & Mrs., Ordinary

Indian-Oyster Festival-Good looking

Several months ago we had a group of 4 Sikhs guys join our Warriors Grappling Academy, for those who do not know the Sikhs have a tradition of World class wrestling, the four have fitted in well with the Academy and become an integral part of the club. I have always wanted to have a proper traditional Indian meal, well Jack and Dara organised a meal at one of their favourite Indian Restaurants in Gravesend but they selected the food which they like. It was fantastic best Indian I have ever had, what was the best part they paid for everything. Next will be to see a Kabbadi.

Nice day Sunday so thought have a visit to Oyster Festival at Whitstable no chance Park and Ride was full as was every car park so of to Herne Bay same problems had to come back to Brogdale for a bight to eat
The Sun brings out some pretty scantly dressed good-looking women but it also brings out some right porkers. Why does a women who weighs 13 stone plus dress like they are 9 stone, they look disgusting with their fat hanging out every where they ought to be interested for offending the eyes. Someone should tell them if you are big dress in loose clothing not tight fitting clothes and of course I have the perfect figure but you cannot see because I wear loose clothing
