Jobs for Sittingbourne people

Last week I wrote an article about the new houses at Bapchild and asked through your paper if Swale Borough Council would insure that local people got the job of building the houses rather then giving foreign labour all the work his reply was as follows:

Dear Martin
We shall seek to encourage all Companies that apply for planning permissions to employ and TRAIN local labour and craftsmen.

I have known Andrew for many years and have always found him trustworthy and honest, so hopefully some local people may get work to help feed their families in desperate times, as of yet I have had no response from our local MP
