Crime Experts you must be joking

Simply jailing youngsters over their role in the riots risks turning opportunistic looters into hardened criminals, experts warned today.

The Criminal Justice Alliance, which represents around 60 organisations, said society had become over-reliant on prison, which should instead be reserved for those who have committed serious offences.

Vicki Helyar-Cardwell, the group's director, said: 'Imprisoning young people could turn some opportunistic looters into hardened criminals.

'Half of all prisoners go on to reoffend within a year of release, and for young offenders the rate is even higher.

'We need to reserve prison for serious offences, making sure effective alternatives such as restorative justice are in place that can command the confidence of victims and communities.'

She called for victims to be given a say in how offenders could make

The first duty of a Curt is to protect the people of this Country from those who break the law, the most effective way is to put them in prison, when they are there society is protected, By all means educated them while they are there but stop making excuses for criminals. After all they chose their path “If you can not do the time do not do the crime”

I did warn you all the Left leaning Liberal elite would start making excuses for the riots but we must careful about how we re-act for example all rioters to have their dole money suspended, brilliant punishment, the only problem how do they live and eat? Some clever human Rights lawyer will soon sue the government  and the scum will get thousands.
