The headline should read, "Sweatshop Employer Unable to persuade people to work for poor wages". Just Over 20K (for some), what do the rest walk away with? 10-15K, leaving the government to top up their incomes, and allowing the DM and it's compassionate readers to slam the "benefit scroungers". Hey, it's win win for DM...
I applied for a similar sounding job when I was 18 years old (the description did not say telesales) having only worked in a clothes shop before I was amazed to be interviewed. Turning up at the first round of interviews I sat along some incredibly smarty people all who had degrees, firsts, in many cases in science, maths, etc. The man who interviewed us was very evasive about what the job actually WAS. The premesis looked great but no clear indication of what we would be doing. That came at interview two. Myself and another young girl turned up only to be taken several miles away to a call centre where we were told to cal and sell people electricity!! We had no way of getting home and had to trail a group of 3 old men for 8 hours and had NOT been told this before. My dad called the Police when I returned home in tears at the end of the day, far far far later than expected. I'm not surprised people don't apply. They are NOT honest about the job, wages, or anything else!!
